Question Coilover options - Fab vRS

Sarah - looking at various suspensions options for the little vRS.

Can you give me some prices for some KW v3? Anything recommended from FK? And what about Weitec - do they offer anything?

Look forward to seeing some prices, and recommendations if possible

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

Oooh you have a few to choose from but not as much as I had first thought
£404.26 + VAT for the Weitec ones
£569.36 + VAT for the KW Varient 1`s
£705.53 + VAT for the KW Varient 2`s
Koni ones are £599 + VAT
Eibach dont do them for the Fabia
These are the better ones to choose from
How is that for a starter?
If there are any that you are interested in , please feel free to give me a shout

Aren't some types of coilovers incompatible with the Jabba ARB?

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

Just mentioned that to be helpful and avoid some upset - there was a recent thread where I asked the same question and those particular coilovers were fine with the ARB - Lummox can point you in the right direction...

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

Thanks guys - especially Mr Taylor!

Thanks for mentioning the ARB issue, I knew about this because it was mine Josh bought, when I had it on the Ibiza!

I'll have a ponder - basically looking for something that maintains as much of the damping of the OEM setup, combined with a lowered ride height. That's the aim.

Otherwise, I'll look to the Eibach plus Koni FSD route.

Cheers,
Steve

#Cracking choice , I do like the FSD combo with the Eibach springs
I think there are a few on here with that set up , so may be worth having a word with them
I hadnt heard of the issue , but goes to show how great this forum is

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

I have the KW V1s on mine - second hand though. Their springs are eibach anyway from what I've been told, and they are very comfortable. Avoid anything FK. They left a bad taste in my mouth after my last couple of years with them.

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

Cheers Jase - that's good to know. You got the V1s pretty recently didn't you, from a for sale thread on here?

The kind of 'outside choices' at the moment are Wietec and Konigsport. Any thoughts anyone? I know Weitec do quite a lot of 'high end' suspension options, but that's about the extent of my knowledge

Oooh decisions, decisions! It's kind of an important one as well!

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

Hi Steve
I agree
It is important and one that can be costly if it goes the wrong way
We have not sold many coilovers for the Fabia , mmmm got me thinking now maybe I should approach a couple of suppliers to see if they want to use my car as a demo

Hi Jason!

The V1's are KW through and through, but if you was to buy Eibach coilover kit you would find that they are made by KW with a dash of Eibach spring. So essentially a V1 kit with eibach springs.

Hope this helps

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

Yeah, can appreciate coilovers probably aren't that popular with the Fabia, and then there needs to be some compatible with the vRS and it's heavier lump of course.

What do you know of Weitec and Konigsport, in terms of build quality etc? Any experience of these with other VAG group cars?

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

Hi
Mmm , Weitec are made by KW and are excellent company making cracking parts
Konigsport are made by FK with the Koni inserts
After a disscussion , we think possibly Weitec out of them two

I'd stick to the Eibachs and FSDs mate.

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

I know quite a few people have commented on how good that set up is
The main issue is going to be the lowering for some , as the coilovers are adjustable with the rideheight

Sarah - what would the fitting charge be on coilovers?

A sidenote regarding the Eibach coilovers... I contacted Eibach over a year ago and was told they had stopped making them for the Fabia.

Id go with the KWs

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

Hi
Fitting on coilovers is £202.50 + VAT and that includes the 4 wheel alignment afterwards
Fitting on springs and shocks would be £167.50 + VAT and again that includes the 4 wheel alignment
It is extra for the setting up for the coilovers
Hope that helps

Re: Coilover options - Fab vRS

Just a quick note on this thread..

I am led to belive that weitec do actually do some Fabia vRS specific springs - alternative to the Eibachs maybe.. I have seen the fabia vRS GT kit (springs + dampers) for less than £300
