#3224039 Happy days, Techie is wed :)

Posted Tech1e on 14 April 2013 - 20:21

As many will know myself and Cheryl (missp) were married yesterday at Malvern college. We had a lovely day with family and friends. Thanks to Ali (unit18) who stepped up to be my best man :)

As we met through Briskoda I thought it only right I thank the site for bringing us together. We still have 'Lissy' the Fabia that brought her to Briskoda and into my life.

#2991825 How Safe Are Britains Roads?

Posted Auric Goldfinger on 31 October 2012 - 10:09

There's nothing unsafe about Britain's Roads. It's the people that use them that make them unsafe.

#3257938 I'm sick of ******* ignorant arseholes

Posted sharkrider on 10 May 2013 - 09:38

I really do, I fear for the future of this country...

I was nearly in a fight in a petrol station because of some ******* ignorant arsole woman in a black ford focus, with her greasy hair, trakkie bottoms, lexus lights, stinking of fags, skinny doleite smackhead boyfriend, because I pulled up at the first pump and didn't move forward... (the only pump with super unleaded) she could easily drive around me, which she did wheelspinning, nearly hitting the backof my car, when i politely explained that my car should have super unleaded and it isn't available at the front pump, all I got was hurls of abuse, by some IGNORANT UNEDUCATED STUPID ******* bitch and her boyfriend.....

when i rule the planet, I will ******* kill them all, death penalty for not simply being able to exist in civilised society....

******* idiots... and they let these people breed so they can get even more benefits to actually allow them to afford to drive.... I wouldn't even ******* feed them

if I ever get a gun I fear for my chances of staying out of prison.

*rant over.

#3214194 Thatcher Dies Aged 87

Posted grr666 on 08 April 2013 - 12:34

Whether people agree with her politics and methods or not. Celebrating her death is
a bit pathetic. Especially when we start condolence threads on here for micro celebs
who have passed away. This woman was the leader of our nation for a long time.
A job most of the people mugging her off couldn't do if their life depended on it.

Agreed. This place sucks and the Yeti totally sucks! At last someone who I can relate to on this forum! ;)

haha!  At least somone understood the irony/sarcasm in the first post.

For info, there has been a long standing issue with comments/posts made by member "Offnote" who didn't seem to be able to grasp the rules of forum etiquette, so on the last straw given some cooling off period to think about things for a few days, then came back on with a duplicate account to slag off the mods = permanent ban for all accounts.  And any future accounts will be treated the same.

Without doubt one of the best Prime Ministers this country has had or will have. I know that it's 'fashionable' to decry what was achieved under her leadership but I for one think overall she did a pretty good job. (I will now adorn my crash helmet for the inevitable, mostly ill-informed, alternative views!)

WTF???!!!

Have the men in white coats not picked you up yet??!!

A tweaked Yeti = Nice, a bright yellow GTR = awesome, a smashed up Roomster = not sure, a 400 break Citigo = lunacy, a tank = fecking legend.

#2967699 Having trouble fighting off unwanted female advances?

Posted cheezemonkhai on 12 October 2012 - 15:56

Ok going against the grain a little, but while it seems quite likely there has been no proof as yet and the evidence hasn't been reported back as far as I'm aware.

Secondly, don't forget that the man also did a heck of a lot for hospitals and charities.
He is dead, so a big spend of public money gains very little.

I'm not saying anything that may have happened can be excused, but just that it's perhaps not in the best interests to be going along the guilty as charged by the press.

Finally, if all these people who claim they saw it did, then Why the F didn't they say something back then. Surely they are just as guilty as the people in question, because they should have done the right thing.

#2812844 What's the strangest thing you've seen at the side of the road?

Posted sk4gw on 30 May 2012 - 13:40

A whole convoy of vehicles escorting some halfwit jogging along with a gold coloured cheese grater held aloft and on fire.

Loads of Police and security around but nobody seems to be able to assist in putting out the flame so they just keep passing it on the next idiot.

#2733967 A tragic loss ,R.I.P Leodhasach

Posted PastyBoy on 26 March 2012 - 12:32

I hate to revive such a tragic thread but it is not without good reason.

After 3 months (of completely forgetting) I have been in touch with Andrew's family about making a dontation in Andrew's memory with the money collected from the sales of the 2012 Briskoda calendar .

Some of you may know, but it was news to me, that Andrew passed away suddenly due to an a undiagnosed heart condition; of which he had displayed absolutely no symptoms whatsoever.
With this in mind the family have requested that the money be donated to 'CRY' (Cardiac Risk in the Young) http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/
They actively campaign for the governments of the day to introduce routine heart screening of the young, to try and reduce the 12 a week (average) sudden deaths in the UK.

The donation has been made via the website and I am sure that the £100 raised will be put to good use.

Another act that the Briskoda community can be very proud of

Posted BossFox on 13 July 2012 - 09:51

Despite trying to be sensible my mind has wondered off into all things Skoda and tuning, mainly with a view to do what has not been done before.
The last point of which was the reason I lost interest in my Fabia mkI project.
There were fast ones and the odd 4x4 one.  Plus they are already an old model car.

Enter the Citigo...  a brand new model that's very light.

I've borrowed one off my local dealer (thanks to Preston Motors in East London) for a few days and Jabbasort have been doing a lot of measuring.

It would appear four wheel drive and a larger engine are possible.
Obviously there are going to be issues with the size of the engine bay and the way the car is packaged.

It's not going to be easy... at times it will probably be a PITA.

But it's going to be fun... :)
