Well... we now have a Folding @ Home team...

Briskoda.net

anyone who wants to join just download the F@H client from HERE and put 42567 in as the team number... Me + ColinD are now furiously crunching... trying to get at least 1 WU done

according to the site, we haven't completed a single WU.........
Hmm.....
However, signed up all the same.
don't know if I can get away with laving the PC on, but I'll try.....

unlike SETI a wu takes a few days to do.... i should have one finished by this afternoon

I run SETI on my home computer, and Folding @home on my work laptop. But my preference is SETI.

Haven't done to much folding recently. the software we use is pretty resource hungry. Especially doing structural identification of mass spectral data. So only one WU done at the moment!

I have found that there are better "management apps" out for seti than F@H...

If you run FAH on your work laptop, I would highly recommend using the service-based installer and configuring it to not run when it's on battery power. That way you'll be crunching without killing your battery when you actually want it

Interesting that completing ONE work unit moved us up 60% in the rankings - obviously an awful lot of people download the client and never actually complete any work

PS perhaps Col hasn't got any quad-Xeons lying around

Naa. was acutally my home PC that finished the unit.. (xp2500, slightly overclocked )
i stopped the quad Xeons coz it was messing up the exchange services
