Smile fabia gear nob

i want to change the gear nob on my 2003 fabia 1.9 tdi for a more stylish one.
does anyone know if it comes off easily and can the surround apron be easily reattached.

When i first got my car the top of the gearnob had a crack in it and the top layer of clear plastic was peeling away..... I took it in to the dealer who changed it for another one in less than 5 mins so i'm assuming it just screws straight off.
