Fabia vRS Tyres.

I know there's been thread after thread about tyres and i have searched through them to get some ideas but i thought i'd throw up a quick poll to see the favoured tyres on the Fabia vRS.

I've only got a limited amount, so please feel free to add any others into the thread itself and i'll add a few 'Others' options for different tyre companies.

I'm after the normal Fabia vRS size - 205/45 R16 83W

My Bridgestone Turanzas seem OK (if a little harsh)
Suppose they'll last for ages as I've now done 8k and they don't look in the slightest bit worn. (cos I drive slowly)

Re: Fabia vRS Tyres.

Site seemed to have grief again loading - several timeouts etc.

I've voted Conti Sport Contact IIs as when standard the car was fine with it, and they've lasted well on the rears in particular.

More grip needed now to put the power down so going for Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 this time, keeping the SC IIs as spare(s) though.

As always it all depends on what you're after. I bet the SCIIs last longer than the Eagles when you drive more sedately, but I thought I'd give the Eagles a shot this time around

To be honest, i'm leaning towards getting the Goodyear Eagle F1's as well. They seem like a decent tyre and are quite cheap compared to others. I'm after a tyre that can last and won't need replacing after 10000 miles really.

Re: Fabia vRS Tyres.

I replaced my originals Michelins (fronts) with Pirelli P Zeros and couldn't believe the difference they made to the car. I've gone through them now (18k), and have just ordered another 4, should be coming today!

Re: Fabia vRS Tyres.

Originally had the Michelins on all 4, changed two for Goodyear Eagle GSD2 which had miles more grip to them than the michelins but wore down a bit too quickly for my liking so there half-worn and on the back.

But am looking to try out the Continental-sportcontact2 on the front , when i get round to ordering them!

A right mix

Re: Fabia vRS Tyres.

What about Khumo's??

They seem to get good reviews - Just ordered one to go on my spare £58 fitted.

I'm a big fan of GY Eagle F1's but I've also been very impressed with Khumo's before.

Re: Fabia vRS Tyres.

I've had both Goodyear Eagle F1's(on my gti-6) and Toyo Proxes T1-S.
The F1's were quite alot better in the wet but in the dry there was no noticable difference. Also f1's tread pattern looked better!!

Re: Fabia vRS Tyres.

I use Marshall Matrax's

They were £55 each and much better than the OEM Michelins in everyway

Bearing in mind that it's the summer coming up then, would you recommend the Goodyear Eagles as the better option for when/if it does rain if the Goodyears and the Toyos offer the same sort of grip in the dry?

Re: Fabia vRS Tyres.

So far the grip in the dry seems a little better BUT I'm not convinced the car handles better, must check the tyre pressures as it looks like it needs a little more.

Do the Kuhmo KU31's wear out quickly and do they offer good grip in the wet and dry?

Can't comment on the wear, but the grip in the dry is fantastic, and the grip in pi55ing down rain is fantastic. Haven't had a drizzly day to try them yet, and hoping not to either
