Default Problem with Forge FMIC for fabia.

I'm constantly blowing the bottom hose off which can be a pain in the backside due to the engine undertray having to be removed and the car raised to get to it, Typically it has went twice in the last month, once in the p!ssing rain on loch lomondside and once at dark o'clock in the morning, both times wearing my suit

I find its the adaptor from the OEM pipework that interfaces with the silicon hose which is held by a Jubilee clip. Has anyone else had this problem?

In the meantime having had a look at the silicon hose it looks a little frayed at one end, but i believe the main problem is the seat on the OEM to Silicon adaptor is slightly too short for a jubilee to get a great grip. I have binned jubilee clips and partaken in some Mikalor hose clamps to see if that makes any difference just now, but I have also designed a new OEM to Silicon interface that I'm having made up at the moment if Forge are interested in seeing the drawings?

What kinda boost are you running out of interest?

When Stu fitted mine one of the clips blasted off but that was because we forgot to tighten it, I've not had any trouble since that one-off incident.

My boost spikes at 26-ish psi so my intake-boost-sensor tells me, that however does include the propane injection side of things too

I was forced to upgrade all my clips to marine grade bolts, due to this problem. No amount of boost my turbo can produce is ever going to pop a hose now. The clips are about an inch wide, and use a bolt/nut setup to tighten. Think they're rated to 8 bar. With the hoses rated to 3 bar, I don't think I need to worry.

Got any info on those clips please Jason, like linky - Due to some work I'm having done it may be worth me doing similar things, not had any trouble but I have a feeling it will be causing grief soonish

Jabbasport supply these with their rear ARB.

They look identical to those. If you're blowing them off, are you sure they're done up tight enough? I assume the pipework has the usual rib around the end for the clamp to go on the inside of?

The only other thing I can think of, is perhaps some of the usual intercooler type sludge found in the bottom of the turbo pipework is causing everything to get a little slippy? Mine's never popped anyway - only the top one popped once when I used a smaller jubilee clip as a short run alternative (very short run )

I had the same problem. I fitted mine and it blew off, but again, forgot to tighten it
I think Neo_VR was fed up with me on the day i fitted it!

Please Jason I'm an engineer

All nice and tight, I think its just the 'landing area' for the clamp before the rib at the end is slightly too small, any axial forces and its quite easy to 'wedge' it off.

Scuse the size, but in the drawing below you will be able to see the highlighted face in blue that i believe requires to be lengthened.

axial? Not got a clue.

I do know that on mine, the bends do go a good inch+ over the pipework before being clamped down.

Hmm I *may* need this too once I get my re-re-remap sorted out. Bas keeps pushing me to do it, but so far I've been resisting

But considering it's a real pain to get to that pipe with the allow sump guard and all that, I'm thinking of the swap over as a precautionary change, if that's possible

sorry forgot to get back to this at the time. We pretty much have extended the hose fitting surface on all of these type of couplings. We already have 3 different sizes for different applications so all future production batches were being machined to suit.
If anyone still has a hose popping off under boost then give us a shout on info@forgemotorsport.co.uk and we will get replacements out to you.
