Default Feeler for a Brisky UK Tour

Just putting the feelers out on this one... as if you're like me you didn't go on the Czech Trip and feel left out

Was wondering if we'd ever done anything like this before... a tour across the UK.

Starting at the highest point in Scotland with a convoy growing until we reach lands end... having a big meet at the end of it all.

Thought we'd get a few takers on this as it'd only be a long weekend... be interesting to see how many drivers/cars we could get

Thoughts/Insults/Suggestions all welcome

Edit:

Thought I'd call this the "Brisky Run to the sun '08" until somebody thinks of a better name

Basically three formats

Option 1 - Overnight drive... start at 2PM at JOG and finish at 4PM the following day at Lands End

Lead car(s) leave John 'O' Groats and travel south towards Glasgow

From various points throughout the UK, cars will begin driving towards linking up with the main group at motorway service stations etc.

Cars will continue south towards Lands End

Cars arrive at Lands End.

**This is a long haul drive at just over 16 hours... I don't think anybody could drive this long so we would probably need to have more than one driver in the car/ or we could spread it over a couple of days and camp somewhere overnight.**

Option 2 - Spread the journey over a couple of days... and take in the sights... heading down the M6 to Lands End from JOG... before heading back up the other side of the country on the M1... should take about 3 days - and we'd have to visit the IOW to keep Pixi happy

Option 3 - A proper UK Tour including Ireland... would need to be spread over the week and we'd have to find places to stay etc.

Do it around the Isle of Wight then, it wouldn't take half as long

Like I said... open to suggestions.

I guess we could all meet up at the various services located on the M6 until we got down south... then meet up "somewhere" in or near Lands End etc.

Just need to find out who our most Northern Member is and who's furthest south

I think the furthest South is in Penzance Cornwall.....not far from Lands End.....

Just a thought but how about doing this for charity ...makes good press as well

It helps but 80% of briskoda members aren't on there.

Also may be a project that Skoda UK might want to be involved in

If this is going to be any more than a few members going for a drive, then it'll need substantial planning - and doing this year isn't realistically possible if you want it to be a charity/wide uptake event.

JMTPW.

I'm well up for it, but I only have a VW.

Hmmm... I see your point.

Maybe we could plan if for sometime next year then and give us more time to arrange it, people being able to attened etc.

Anybody want to volunteer to swing the idea by the mods... I'm scared of 'em
