Hi Steve,
If we want to book ferry how soon we can do it and how should we do it?Open or for exact dates?Wouldn`t it be easier if we booked in groups?
When can you tell price for accomodation?
Can`t wait to go.
Thanks,Gabriella

Keep refering to the first post regularly for updates. At the moment no times for the ferry or accomodation booking have been arranged yet but it will be very soon.

To give you an idea, it cost around £500 per person for petrol heads and £400 for the diesel geeks (that was for EVERYTHING ie. food, fuel, accomodation, entrance fees etc.) last year but that was over 4 days!. This year is two days longer so I would imgine an extra £60-£80 per person.

Edit: Fuel was by far the biggest expenditure for most people!.

I will either be me + 3, or will do something similar like last time and get someone off Briskoda insured on the mongrel (at no extra cost ). Won't be Chris though. He liked the smoke too much last time and all my diesel went out the back as soot and not burned in the engine!

Default Czech Road Trip Q&A

Ahem, what happens if my "me + 3" becomes "me + 1" + "1 + 1" in another Skoda. Is space going to be at a premium because if so, the other Skoda can be left out the town somewhere.

Default Czech Road Trip Q&A

Just a quick question regarding insurance. I assume that everyone has minimal Euro cover as standard, did anyone pay extra to have fully comp Euro cover? If so, how much extra was it? Thanks?

Oh, and just an idea, Makefish do you think it would be worth running a second thread along side this one for questions?

Default Czech Road Trip Q&A

I took out the fully comp option it was £16.50 per named driver, that was for a four day, this trip is a bit longer so it maybe a little bit more.

Default Czech Road Trip Q&A

L.V give you 6 months fully comp E.U cover as standard. Means I can nip in and out of Europe as and when without any worries. I think I asked a bit of a "Q & A" above, so if you want to move that post across to that thread with an answer, please do.

I may be interested in this trip, but much as I would like to go for the full 6 days I may struggle with time off work etc and only be able to go Thur - Sun (which I think is similar to what you did last year). I guess others may be in a similar position.
What would the situation be with accomodation if this is the case? Would I need to make my own arrangements? I appreciate those going for the full trip shoud probably get first choice if accommodation is limited.

Most of us are MUCH younger than you and can handle the trip.

I can't commit to this yet Steve, but the second I am able to, I'll let you know.

If there is room then I see no reason as to why you cannot join us although there would be no concession on the cost ie. it will be the same price for everybody. There is no reson why you cannot make your own arrangements although it may be tricky meeting up with us for the 'excursions'.

The £40 per night for accommodation, is that per person or for 2?

The 4 star Holiday Inn is only about £85 per twin room and parking there is £9 per 24 hrs, so £40 per person per night to share an apartment seems a little dear.

It's just a guestimate at the moment and is likely to be a lot less than that but when I know for sure I'll let everyone know.

Can anyone remember what it was last time because I have forgotten!.

Edit: I have just revised my estimate to £150 per person.

Do you think it's likely we'll be using the same theatre secure parking facility overnight?

Steve, I think it is a good idea to ask for a small deposit now, rather than wait until you've finalised everything. I just know that you'll get a lot of hopefuls who sign up, but don't follow through, and at least with a deposit you know they are confirmed(-ish). Just MHO though...

I can't ask for a non-refundable deposit without giving you an accurate indication as to the cost. Don't panic though, all will be in place soon

Make it a refundable deposit then until all the details are clear... Just concerned you are trying to arrange accommodation for 30+ and only 10 or so finally commit...

Another question, are we going to get some merchandise arranged around this trip? It was a suggestion at one point in the feeler thread and I quite like the idea of having a little souvenir from BRISKODA to remind me 'those were the days'...
