Thumbs up Meguiars Detailing Seminar - A Great Day

A huge thanks to all those who turned up to the detailing seminar which I organised with the guys at Meguiars in Daventry.

It was quite flattering to find out that Briskoda were the first official people to attend an official Meguiars detailing seminar.

It was a workshop to explain how to effectively look after your car inside and out, an introduction to Meguiars products and people and how the products are used to their best effect.

As a long time user myself I was more than impressed with the presentation Steve King, Meguiars UK MD gave us. It was thoroughly professional and informative. I am sure all those that attended will agree.

I cetainly learnt a lot and they tell me that they are booked up for many months to come, with every conceivable car owners club you can think of, so booking the next one will be some months away i'm afraid!

Nice to get some freebies and some cut price products as well. Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable day all round.

Yep, a very useful morning out! Nice to meet you Andre and thanks for organising.

Very informative and a bonus to get some great priced gear

I'll post up pictures in this thread, once I've been through them.

Cheers,
Steve

Agreed. Cracking day, what really made it was being able to use the products.

They can stand there and tell you how good they are, but to actually be able to use them is something else.

Waxing a car will be soo much easier in future!

Cheers Andre from Jamie,Kev and myself for organising a top morning at Meguiars.

Steve really knew his stuff and didn't try and push the products, he explained how they worked, demonstrated them and they sold themselves. It has saved me a boat load of cash on the bits that I bought, all were half price or even less then they sell for at Halfords.

After meeting a few of you off this forum I am going to try and contribute more and hopefully become more involved in this great community.

Carlos.

Wish I could have gone, bit far from Madrid though, can I tap your new knowledge? I want to know what products are best if I just want a shampoo and a wax. I can order them online. I suppose I also need a mitt for the shampoo and a microfibre cloth for the wax, any advice would be gratefully received as I have manged to allready get bl00dy swirl marks. I need a shampoo for once a week and a wax for once a month. Thanks in advance if you can help.

No doubt the others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the recommendations were:
Shampoo for soft water areas: Gold Class
Shampoo for hard water areas: NXT
Wax for paler colours: Gold Class (liquid or paste)
Wax for darker colours: NXT (liquid or paste)

Members of the group with black cars may want to add comments about swirl reduction.

Thanks a lot, I will go for Shampoo for soft water areas: Gold Class and Wax for darker colours: NXT (liquid or paste) then, I guess you use a lambswool mitt for the shampoo and a microfibre cloth for taking the wax off, what is the best thing to dry the car and also to apply wax, my car is a graphite estate. Sorry for bugging you with questions.

They do applicator pads and microfibre mitts and polishing cloths (these may be available locally cheaper). I use a cotton towel to dry off the car, but their Water Magnet is an effective alternative.

Me too - I'm sure I put my name on the original interested list but I thought the idea had died (in the same way as many others on here)
