Default Milton Keynes Mega Meet & RR

Date: OCTOBER 6th

Hi guys and gals,

I'm currently organising a joint Milton Keynes Mega meet over on UKMKIV's & SCN and thought it'd be good to get people from all forums involved as we had a photo meet which went well so no reason this can't on a bigger scale.

The reason I say this is a MEGA meet is because it'll be more than just your average meet, where everyone turns up and has a chat, this a full day of activities to keep everyone busy. The plan is:

Start off with a rolling road power shootout at Marlin Motor Engineers time to be confirmed probably 9ish: £35 per car which includes power run, printout and a slap up bbq so you can get filled up and keep yourself going for the rest of the day or majority of. This is a 4 wheel rolling road so can cater for the majority of cars and everyone is welcome.

X marks the spot and it's easy to find just head for central Bletchley, where you go over the 2 roundabouts towards the train station, follow the road round the roundabout, under the bridge and then left at the first of the double roundabouts and right into the industrial estate. I think that's right but you'll find it I'm sure.

Move on to UKMKIV MK Meet HQ: back end of Morrisons car park for the good old chatter and banter as normal.

Early Afternoon on to photoshoot location: TBC

Early Evening a game or two of bowling: About £5-7 a game or we could just forget this.

Well that's the plan so who's up for it? The last MK Meet we had on UKMKIV's had a fairly good turnout and is always a laugh so thought with three forums it'll be even better. Ideally a round number of 10 cars running would be the minimum needed for the RR to go ahead. and I'll have to confirm the maximum depending on the number of people interested.

Put your name down and I'll add you to the appropriate list below, please state whether you'd like to go on the rollers or not

RR list:

1) AvRS - FEATURE (All)

Be careful with your timings, as when we did the last one at Marlins we ran about 25 cars and that took until mid to late afternoon. Also each car usually gets two to three runs before it comes off the rollers.
Martin at Marlins in a top bloke and really does you proud with the food and drink(BBQ).
What date in October are you thinking of?

I could be persuaded to bring something. I assume 400bhp+ and RWD will be OK

How much just for the food for those of us who don't want to go on the rollers?

Sorry completely forgot to add the date it's now at the top. OCtober 6th is the date I'm working to with all the other guys. Thought it gives plenty of time to prepare. Timings are adjustable so thought we'd be finished by 2ish which is when we normally start at the meet location car park.

I never asked about if attendees have to pay so as long as you don't just all hang around at the bbq and leave some for us who are running I can't see a problem with you not having to pay.

Yes, but only to those who paid for the rollers, as it was part of the deal.

Yeah they did say food was included for free so all are welcome even those not wanting to run.

So any of you wish to be put on the list? When we reach 15 people on the RR list I'll ring and make the date definite and ask what the maximum can be.

Glad to see the first Briskoda name down, hopefully we can get a few more as it's going to be a good day out. I believe this is also the first time a combined rolling road shootout has been done with the three main VAG forums so should be interesting.

Quick bump...

Anyone else interested in getting their names down, there were a few people interested on the other thread that are yet to reply. Just need to get numbers up so I can definitely book the date with Marlin.

Thanks

I just spoke to Marlin about the rolling road section of the mega meet and the date is provisionally booked and all they need to do is ring me to verify the max number of cars but so far believe it to be 25 so still a few spaces left. Any takers for those spaces?
