Default Camping trip to the lakes next summer?

Just phising for interest about a camping trip up in the lakes next summer?

Would anyone be interested?

Theres a really good campsite up at lake coniston that we've been to a few times now, and thought that this would be a good trip up there.

Im sure they could do us a special deal on a group booking.

Heres a link to a site with reviews of campsite:

I could be persuaded on this, but that campsites seems abit steep! Ł12! per night! Last campsite I went upto in the Lakes was Ł5pppn, and that was in Cockermouth!

Thats what i mean... could see about a group deal, and if they're not willing to budge, then go somewhere else!

But they are a good site... very clean.

Theres a good pub nearby too!! hehe

But as i say, just asking around for interest as i think it would be a good weekend and would need some forward planning!

Ł12 per night was for a tent, car, 1 adult, 2 children and a dog though.

Many campsites these days seem to charge on a menu type basis.

Better hope its a big enough tent you've got there too.... 4 Briskodians in one tent???!!! hehe

Nearer the time, will drum up some more interest and get some rough figures of how many we expect and see about some special Briskoda deals!!!

Well I can also recommend a decent campsite, which is in Cockermouth, which is nice but less touristy, but still really close to some idyllic parts like Loweswater etc.

Plus Cockermount is 5 mins drive away or 20 minute walk!

I live in Keswick (as postman pat ect know ) and I f we could get a deffinate date and people AGREE to come, I could convince the rugby club to give us field right in the middle of town, they even offered to open the club showers, and bar for us, and they'd let us take the cars on, and be loud (ish) .. (we have loads of great pubs in the town, and the rugby club is right in the middle, and a stones throw from Booths...)

I tried to organise this last year, but no-one would commit without a date, and I couldn't get the club 'board' to agree to give me the field without garunteed numbers and a deposite!

If we get a list going, and some suggestions for dates, I'll see what I can do!

1) sharkrider. (+mel and HC)

EDIT!!! if someone else wants to organise it in a different town I would be quite happy with that too!

I think i know where that rugby field is..

One the corner before you turn off to keswick or something i think... right on the main road in the 20 (i think) zone???

That would be absolutely fantastic.

Obviously people would chip in and the rugly club would recieve some money for the use of their field!

its right in the center of town... behind Booths (supermarket) carpark, they have two pitches, a proper one, and a secondary one that they often hire out..... its the same field they use for the beer festival...... next to the CCC site.... stonesthrow from the lake too

as for the money, I think I said Ł10 per person , per night, and they seemed happy with that......

lol... I'll just park it near Gilly , and see if he cleans it

the bury one is at an activities centre (a private field) and we've been the last two years, has been really good fun

my highlight of this year, was the 'drunken' "How many people can you get in the boot of a superb, and still shut it?!" It was 4 lol...
