| Briskodian | Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? I've got Mytyres.co.uk loaded in another IE window, poised to buy 4 "Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31" tyres for the Octavia. ![]() At £50 a corner they're not too expensive if I sell the Octavia yet they seem well reviewed if I keep it. Only other alternative is the Toyo T1R's that people here like but it would seem they wear faster and cost more - but have more grip (due to being softer) So, if anyone has anything to say about Kumho tyres please shout now. |

| Re: Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? The T1-R's have lasted ages on the Ibiza, much better than reports I'd heard on the T1-S. Josh changed from the Kumho's to the T1-R's he said grip was significantly better and he's also found the wear rate to be very good. BTW what size are you going for?

| Re: Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? Used to have Kumhos on my old Octavia - just put some Falkens on the new one and the Kumhos were better. Mine were the Ecsta 412s though. |

| Re: Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? I hear they're a pretty good budget tyre. ![]() But not as good as some budget tyres for perhaps a tenner of £15 more? (i.e Toyo's) (If SWMBO is likely to be driving it in the future, perhaps serious grip is not so much of a concern, and those Kumhos will be pretty decent )

For the sake of an extra £5.70 a tyre I'd go for the T1-R's.

| Re: Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? BTW T1-R's are cheaper at blackcircles than mytyres. Edit: ..........but they charge for delivery so work out more.

| Re: Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? got kuhmo KU31 on front of my fabia 7k miles ago. Seem to be wearing quicker than the michelins primacys I had but grip is much better. Can't say I've noticed any noise level difference. Think I'm going to give the T1-R's a go when these wear out as they're only a little bit more expensive. |

| Re: Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? Run them on the BM... RWD...put it this way they allowed the BM to keep up with an integra R round Anglesey that was on nero's so for me they were worth our money, did very well considering.

| Re: Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? Phil.. i have the old 712`s on mine (225/40/18) grip not as good as F1`s... but i quote there sales pitch: "The ecsta ku31 is Kumhos new for 2005 ultra high performance tyre most come with extra load capacity, the ku31 combines the finest race derived tyre technology with innovations in road tyre design.....patented rotational wear indicators....protection against water turbulence through longitudal grooves...even wear profile helps suppress noise as the tread reduces...asymmetric grooves for high speed stability...slashed lateral grooves increase water evacuation...silica based compound ensures maximum wet performance"....blah blah blah For the price there good, but if you want the best go F1 or Nero`s Phil

| Re: Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? Got them on the fabia after a few sets of P- Zero Neros. Dry grip is good and if you can live with the understeer in the wet they're a decent tyre although I've not used Toyos. I used the Khumos on a scatter rally in the snow any they scared the **** out of me.

| Briskodian | Re: Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 - Anyone want to put me off these? Well I've ordered them - 4 tyres for £181 and a local place that looks afetr the company vehicles will fit them for £5 per wheel. Once I've had them for a while I'll write a review. |
