  1. Hello all, My handbrake light on the dashboard started blinking the other day when the handbrake was on. The light then started to fade and went off completely. yesterday, it blinked back into life and stayed on while parked. However, as of this morning it does not turn on when the handbrake is on. the brake itself seems to work fine. Any ideas. Reagrds
  2. Spent some time this afternoon splicing the wires together and plugging it in only to find out that one of the pins inside the sensor is broken. Ohhh dear. The sensors on ebay are about £15, will it be an easy job? Once again gents thank you for your help.
  3. Thanks for your reply. I managed get the part you mentioned of eBay. 0 On my car, the two wires exposed were red and blue. if it was the same on you car , would you be able to tell me which wire i should connect to the '1' and '2' wires of the connector. Cheers.
  4. Gents, Thanks for your suggestions. Finally managed to get under the car today and it seems the cable connecting the sensor was disconnecting. The female connector that plugs into the sensor has also come off exposing the wires. does anyone know the technical name for this connector? if I can get one of ebay, hopefully I'll be able to fix it? Thank you
  5. I'd recommend Mobil 1000 15w40, reasonable price and good oil. http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/engine-oil/mobil-super-1000-x1-15w-40-oil-5l
  6. Hello all, The reversing light for my mk1 1.4mpi has stopped working. I replaced the bulbs and fuse; still no luck. There are no warning lights on my dashboard either. Would this be a sensor problem?, I haven't had a chance to check it yet. Regards.
  7. hello, have you sold the cigarette lighter? Regrads.
  8. Hello all, Could someone give me instructions on how to fit an aftermarket cigarette lighter in a mk1 fabia please. The genuine part is a 3 terminal clip on part. However, the aftermarket part is not (picture below). I've tried to find a genuine part but theyre very scarce and quite expensive for a small part. If you could guide me on thw wiring process too, that'd be great. Regards,
  9. Hello All. Could someone shed some light on an issue I have please. Basically my fan/blower does not work on the #1 setting. It works just fine on #2,3 & 4. All the other features (i.e hot/cold setting) work just fine. I dont think it is a resistor problem since settings 2 & 3 work. I'am going to remove the glove box and have a look soon. It would be good to have an idea as to what to look for. regards,
  10. Cheers guys, Much Appreciated. Although i was thinking about buy the switch without the housing. example (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK4-BORA-SKODA-FABIA-SEAT-LEON-DRIVERS-SIDE-FRONT-ELECTRIC-WINDOW-SWITCH-/321169720051?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ac73502f3) Pretty sure i can find a cheaper option. Will this be a hassle? any obscure wires i should lookout for when removing and fitting the switch?
  11. Hey guys, Could someone point me in the right direction with regards to replacing the driver side electric window switch please. it appears as if the switch has come loose and there is a lot of play in the switch. It works normally when rolling the window down. However, in order to roll it up i have to apply pressure from an awkward angle. Is it an easy job? How much would a new switch cost? Regards, Evangel
  12. Hello everyone. Proud owner of a fabia for just over a week(first car). This is a fantastic forum and it has already helped me with little problems. Thank you.
