  1. I saw that Halfords also sells the steel clip so went and bought one this morning £8 ! But the Skoda assist guy had used a plastic band type thing to temporarily hold the wiper in place. However this did not work and a found that due to it being held in place it has bent the rod so I can't install this metal clip. I was going to take the rod of and straighten in and try the clip. But it looked like a plastic nut holding it in place.
  2. My drivers side wiper has popped of the wiper linkage. I put it back on but it just keeps popping off. I phoned skoda assist as this happend before and they fitted a new linkage for me at my work. This time they did not have the part so i am going to have a try and fix it myself. I had a look this morning and found the part number 5j0.955.325 valeo. The question i have is how does it conect to the rest of the assembley ? It looks like a black plastic nut or is it just pushed into position ? Thaks for any help in advance.
  3. Due to the short journeys you have been doing the car has not got hot enough to regenerate the dpf. The next time you go out in the car make sure it's a nice long run to get the car warm and the light should go out. If you keep doing short journeys with the light on sooner rather than later it will go into limp home mode, at that point you would need to do a forced regeneration. Mine came on one time and it would not go out even after a long run and it went into limp mode no power, it turned out I needed sensor 3 replaced £158 from Skoda assist.
  4. Not a chance I'd be paying the £1500 . Tell them you don't mind waiting on the right one being built, you can drive around in the auto until yours is built sounds fair ? Or just get Skoda uk to pay the £1500.
  5. I'm pretty sure the vrs diesel engine was not one of the engines needing the fix.
  6. Dpf will be getting on a bit but it all comes down to price for the car and your expectations. What about the egr or injectors ? Any of them been replaced ? Fresh oil at the right times helps.
  7. What about a 2017 vw/seat/skoda/Audi diesel ? Only asking as I was thinking of trading my fabia tdi for a golf gtd or seat Leon fr ? Sorry to hijack the thread I agree with the rest of the guys if you get the chance of your money back take it !
  8. +1 on the don't use super market diesel I use Esso as it's on my route. I used to use shell but it's out my way now never had a problem with either.
  9. I have the same car and did not get the fix done and I would advise you not to have it done ! As for the flashing glow plug light this could be a Lott of things but I have had this before. The fist time it was turbo pressure sensor replaced under warranty on my drive way by Skoda assist. The second time it was egr wire loom that was replaced under warranty. These faults were when the car was in its first year of me buying the car, I have had the car 4 and a half years now on 57500 miles. I have had some unrelated problems like the creaking stearing with the bad batch of inner tie rods that is well documented on this forum was fixed under warranty in the second year. I had a problem with the dpf light being on this was a fault with sensor 4 in the exhaust needing replaced this was replaced by Skoda assist on my drive way this cost me £155 as it was out of warranty by then. Despite all this it's still a good car the last two years it's been problem free and returns good mpg. The good news is that you have a warranty with your car good luck with it !
  10. http://www.fuelly.com/car/skoda/fabia/2012/firefox2/351309. My fully results over 66 fuel ups forget the 139.8 mpg that was two fuel ups in one !
  11. I have the same car and get about 540 miles out a tank in the summer and about 490 -- 500 in the winter. That is 40 mile round trip to work and back each day . I did get 580 miles out the tank on a longer 170 mile run. Remember it only has a 45 litre tank the Jetta will probably have a bigger tank !
  12. Wow it's a good job your on the ball ! Some poor trusting soul could have got really ripped off . As for them taking some money of you for the 500 miles nah full refund in my book then run away !
  13. Mine were fitted at Skoda main dealer brake disks were warped started of as light judder then got progressively worse. The ones they fitted went the same way this time got an independent garage one where my friend works to fit better ones ! The ones Skoda use did not last long and cost me £475 front and rear this time only cost me £142 for front been fine since june.
  14. I'm on my 3rd set of brake disks and pads on mine at 56000 miles. 1st set changed at 18000 miles due to corrosion 2nd set at 42000 miles due to corrosion. Brake disk and pads don't last as long as they used to.
