  1. Yeah maybe i will do that, have to see what insurance is going to give me to see if the car is repairable or not but i dont think i will repair it, it has rust in lots of places also
  2. Wow nice mpg, right now i own a felicia 1999 but i have been in an accident and im going to scrap it. Personally im not a fan of diesel cars, i like petrol more
  3. I thought that also, the fact that they are volkswagen underneath is enough to say that its a reliable car
  4. Hi i am interested in buying a skoda fabia preferably 2006 model, are they reliable? I want it as a daily car, do they have any common faults that they suffer from ? Are they economical ?
  5. This is how i did my clutch replacement on my 1999 1.3 felicia carburator model 1. Disconnect negative cable from battery 2. Remove connections from starter 3. Drain gearbox oil (nut is 19mm) 4. Jack up the front of car, put on safe jackstands, remove both wheels. 5. Remove the driveshaft nut (nut 30mm) it requires alot of torque to remove so prepare for it. 6. Remove ball joint nut and bolt (17mm) 7. Separate ball joint from hub by using leverage. 8. Remove driveshafts from the transmission by prying with a small pry bar, taking very good care to not damage the seal. Note: (leave one inner driveshaft cup attached to the transmission because if you remove both driveshafts you risk that some differential gears fall into the transmission.) 9. Now remove the back if the transmission mounting and bracket also. 10. Jack up the engine with wooden blocks from the oil pan( be careful to not bend anything) 11. Remove the bolt from the other transmission mount near the coolant tank and also the bracket. 12. Remove the gear change lever from the transmission by extracting the pin out using a punch. (You can just remove the bolt and gaiter from under the gear lever and extract the transmission with the gear lever attached i did it this way). 13. Remove the clutch cable from the clutch fork and from bracket. 14. Remove speedo cable from the gearbox (9mm nut) 15. Remove reverse light switch 16. Remove transmission bots from the engine (16mm nuts) noting the earth cable and brackets where they are. 17. Then with a bit of wiggling it should come out. 18. Now you can see the clutch and its components before you. 19. Remove pressure plate bolts and remove it and the clutch from the flywheel. 20. Inspect the flywheel for any grooves or imperfections, if its smooth carry on. 21. Clean all the dust and the surface of the flywheel, and install the clutch (hub with springs facing outward) and pressure plate. 22. Align the clutch with a tool or a socket extension with tape on it to fit tight. Once everything aligned install pressure plate and tighten all bolts in a star pattern. (Clean the pressure plate from any oils that it will have and grease a little the splines on the clutch disc) 23. Now remove the clutch bearing from the transmission by removing the clutch fork bolt (12mm bolt) and the other (9mm bolts) that secure the sleeve to the transmission. Install the new one in reverse order. 24. Now its a good idea also to replace driveshaft oil seals if they are leaking. 25. Now its a matter of jacking up the transmission and mating it up with the engine, it takes a bit of time so be patient. Once its installed, install everything in the reverse order and dont forget to fill up the transmission with new oil (75w90 or 80w90) and adjust your clutch to be level with the brake pedal by turning the 10mm bolt and holding the round thingy on the cable. 26. Start it up and enjoy with a beer !
  6. Im replacing the clutch on my felicia as the pressure plate fingers were bent and the bearing was bad, now how do i install the new throwout beAring without removing the clutch fork? As the fork doesnt seem to budge i can just turn it only.
  7. Hi im trying to change my front and back door on my 1999 felicia hatchback, but ive been hammering fir a long time on the front door hinge pin and it doesnt wanna budge? Is it just hammer out or im doing it wrong ?
  8. Any one need felicia parts? These are from my 1.3lx 1999 felicia I have 2 brake calipers Rear wiper motor Starter Alternator pulley Carburator Tailgate latch 2 headrests
  9. I dont mean the part where the housing and thermostat come in contact i mean where the complete housing bolts to the cylinder head, there is supposed to be an o ring there aswell
  10. When im fitting the housing to the cylinder head, should i use sealant or the o ring will be sufficient for it to seal that area ?
  11. Thats what i thought.. i will ask him regarding temperature and ce label, thanks guys !
  12. Yeah youre right... But most thermostats that you find nowadays are that type. In malta thats the only model i found
