Kkk 130 turbo will take a stage 2 map for a very short time! Big power doesn't have to mean huge torque
-
I've had a performance torque map on my standard vrs, did the job, nice gains but smoked a bit, then when I put a hybrid turbo (Ali @ unit 18) I used there map and it was mighty impressive, it ran 191 bhp and 298lbs which was spot on, No smoke, ran perfect until I sold the car, If I compare my fabia to my current car, scirrocco gt tdi 170 dsg then the Vw feels slow and flat comaprison Get a unit 18 map with upgrades, money well spent

6k will get you a very tidy low mileage example probably on a 07 plate Don't get caught out by over inflated prices some are for sale at

When I swapped to business insurance it was £10 per year extra. Nothing ventured.......... -
Is going 'hybrid' worthwhile?
Mattcooper79 replied to sko-with-go's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I had a fabia with a stage 1 map, then as parts wore out replaced them with updated parts, I ended up with a hybrid turbo and strong map with associated upgrades making approx 200 bhp. My honest opinion having done this is don't bother, it's not worth the outlay in cash. If you want a 200 bhp+ car then buy something that was designed that way out of the box. I currently have a mk6 golf Gti with 210 bhp and it faster in every way than my fabia was. There is much cheaper metal out there that will Leo the same jobs for much less money though -
That looks very wrong, I would get those brakes looked at ASAP or return it to the purchased garage to get the problem sorted.

Much better!!

I think the mk1 looks best lowered and on spiders! Not a fan of the thicker alloy setup on the fabia!! But as you mention, nothing ventured! Car looks very tidy though fella

Nice motor fella, not a fan of the wheels and colour but that's just my opinion but I'm pleased you like it, nice plate touch though

Unit18 or Ptorque remap? based in Wolvo
Mattcooper79 replied to Beancounter1980's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I've had both a p-torque and a unit 18 map on my fabia Vrs, I initially had he car mapped by p-torque but then due to an unrelated issue replaced the turbo for a hybrid one, then I got a unit 18 map from Ali, from a personal perspective I preferred the drive and delivery of the unit 18 map. It's just my opinion, I don't have a bad word to say about either map, but I preferred top end pull from the unit 18 map, this may have been because of the extra power the turbo could handle -
312mm brakes..... On a vrs mk 1, worth it?
Mattcooper79 replied to jkevs's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Very clean and tidy, I think the Vrs should have had spiders fitted as standard, just need to treat yourself to some wheel nut covers!!! -

Hammerite smooth green is a perfect match but I think it's out of production, not sure what else matches though, maybe eBay for smooth green -

I paid about that and bought new pads, didn't fancy putting on used pads, I would also take the time to repaint the brakes, makes such a difference to the appearance!! -

Simple, best mod I did!!! -
If it was the dmf I would expect the rattle to be constant when the clutch is engaged,
