  1. So I have come to replace my AC condenser and I can't seem to find any guides besides for the MK7 Golf which, now I have stripped down is totally different. How does the condenser come out? Do you have to loosen up the rad and intercooler and push towards to engine bay and slide out from the top? If so, how? Many thanks! This is the current sitrep.
  2. I'd heard they were doing a ID.3 sporty version. Problems will still be the same. The heatpump design is crap and the non heat pump cars are power hungry on the PTC heaters as if the efficiency wasn't so bad to start with. On top of this the price they're asking is ridiculous. I had an ID.3 First on pre order when they were "cheap". I cancelled it as I felt that VW had just failed with the execution. Ironically I should have kept the order and sold it for a silly profit (as you can no longer get a 77kwh ID.3 anymore). The prices now are just stupid. Even more so now Tesla have dropped their prices. I tried most EVs going and bottom of my lost was Tesla because of the bad press and perceived bad quality. How wrong I was. They're superb cars. I now own a Model 3 LR and couldn't be happier with it. 23 yrs buying VAG cars and I now own a "Yank tank". Just goes to show that VW have lost their way lately. Saying that I'm looking for an Up! GTI to replace the VRS if anyone knows where I can get one at a reasonable price (should have got one of these in 2018 when you could get them brand new for £12500 too)
  3. Probably because the vag group EV offering is shocking. The heat pump/efficiency debacle has made them some of the worst performing EVs out there. The OS/infotainment is appalling and they offer nothing extra to any of its competitors. Up! GTI on the other hand is superb.
  4. Thanks. Found Laser 5063 which looks to be correct fitment. I'll see if I can get from ECP or failing that Amazon.
  5. Thanks. Do euro car parts supply these as I cant see anything in search.
  6. 2014 VRS TDI with a rumbling from the rear so I suspect a bearing on the way out. What size tool do I need to remove the bearing assembly. I've found on America YouTube video that it's a tzn #18 but how does that translate to a UK tool?
  7. You pay the dealer. If you don't want to deal with them, just get the price off their website (you have to enter address and email address but don't worry they don't spam you) and then get in touch with some dealers. Trust Skoda in Wolverhampton and Stourbridge, Rainworth Skoda near Sheffield and Simpsons skoda in Preston are ones I know of that at least used to match DriveTheDeal prices.
  8. The website says that but basically they will once you speak to the dealer. If you're on pcp now anyway you can just VT the car.
  9. Yes they call you, go through everything with you on phone and then they put that through to dealer who will call you to sort deposit etc.
  10. Have you looked on drivethedeal to see how it works out price wise. They just put you in touch with their dealer and will do pcp, part ex etc exactly the same as your local. Bought 5 cars between me and family with them now.
  11. I avg around 50mpg tank to tank on my 184 Manual VRS TDI 64 reg with nearly 70k on the clock. When I first got it last year I was getting around 42mpg. Fuel filter and additives have transformed the MPG and the smoothness of the engine. On a boring 50mph average speed run (of which there are many around the West Mids on M6 whichever way you go!) I can get 62mpg very easily.
  12. It'll always be a 4pot but the exhaust makes a difference. Either a res delete or a new exhaust. I went for a res delete and it pops on overrun and farts on gear change.
  13. Manuals aren't that popular due to the clutch being a major weak point on these models. 310 is the pre wltp model 👍 I reckon I could get £23-25k for my 16 reg 3dr oryx white with just 7k on clock. Fully specced apart from roof and leather.
  14. Demand has shot up on 2nd hand values. No 3 doors being made, and won't be going forward, prices have gone up on new ones and nobody really wants the post WLTP model
