  1. Hi all, Rejoining the family after 12 months over on the dark (Audi) side. Used to own a Race Blue MK2 pre FL Octy VRS, until some numpty put too much oil in it, lost their temper with a Golf R on the a303 and blew the pump Bought an A4 Avant DPF 170, the less said about that, the better. Now back in Rallye Green Post FL Octy VRS and couldn't be happier. I'm sorry, I made a mistake, but now I'm back! Cheers, Chris
  2. I didn't leave anything worth stealing fortunately, not sure whether they were spooked or not half way through or whatever.
  3. Thought it was worth a mention that I found the driverside lock barrel pulled out, on my Octy earlier this evening. Could be nothing, and nothing was taken from my car, but thought I'd post up here about it.
  4. UPDATE Just incase anyone else needs an answer to this in the future, it is the Position Sensor. Single T30 torx bolt holding it in, and replacing it seems to have sorted my P000A "Camshaft posiiton Slow Response Bank 1 Error". Huge improvement on Throttle response at low revs, and hill starting.
  5. Could somebody just confirm that what I am looking at here is my Camshaft Position Sensor. My supplier sent me an angled sensor, and the sensor that I am assuming is the Position sensor is clearly straight, but he doesn't seem have a variant for my car on the system. I have had a good luck around, and cant find any other sensor in that area. I can't seem to find a definitive decision anywhere online (apologies if the answer is staring me in the face) where the sensor is, some people are saying its as big a job as the cam belt, others say it takes minutes. Here is a picture of what I am looking at, any advice/ part numbers would be greatly appreciated. Car is an Octy MkII vRS 2.0T, pre facelift 06 plate. Thanks
  6. I managed to get 480 full comp, 27 with 1 year ncb, cheaper than the 1.4 civic I upgraded from. They wanted like 650 for that. Looks like I bought at the right time. Hopefully won't get rinsed next year.

  8. Thanks Briskodian, I thought 15a was a bit high to be in line with the lights. I picked up some new standard bulbs, put them in and they have done the trick. I may have put the LED ones in backwards, I have heard before that can burn them out. However, this still leaves me with the mystery of what this solo 15a fuse is that keeps going. In the picture you posted of the fuse box, this fuse sits in the gap just up and to the left of the fuse box, behind the light control, and is a box with 2 blue wires coming from the back. Sorry cant get to my car to take an image at the moment. The car has had an aftermarket towbar fitted, I am starting to think it may be something to do with that? Certainly seems aftermarket to my rookie eyes.
  9. Hi Guys, I fitted some LED lights for my rear number plate on an Octavia vRS II, checked they worked after install and all fine. My neighbor then informed me they were not on later on in the evening, so checked all the fuses in my internal fuse (wasn't sure which one they were connected to) and found the 15a fuse that sits in its own older above the fuse box had gone. Now the fuse keeps popping as soon as I put a new one in. I have tried doing it with the old bulbs fitted, and with no bulbs fitted, even tried a 20a in there just to see if it would blow, and it did. I can't find anything else that isn't functioning correctly, so does this fuse just look after the License Plate lights? (15a seems quite high in my uneducated opinion) I can't see any reason for a shorting connection either. Anyone come across this before? Thanks in advance
  10. Afternoon all Picked up my Octavia VRS mkII over the bank holiday. What a car! Upgraded from a 1.4 2001 civic, so just a small improvement. Looking forward to getting involved with the community!
