  1. Been monitoring this topic and the first gear problem for quite awhile now, and based on recent reports decided to bite the bullet and get my dealer to update the software. My specific problem was 1st gear kangarooing. Well job was done this morning and very early indication is that it has improved things, but I will withhold final judgement for a week or two to allow me to check all conditions under which I encountered the problem .....mainly on startup and in cold weather but also with warm engine to a lesser degree. Vehicle is Karoq SE 1.5 Evo manual built May 2018.

  3. Hi , hoping to take delivery of my new Karoq in the next week or so and have declined my dealer kind offer of Lifeshine and Gap insurance. Pretty sure I can get less costly offerings elsewhere. So can anyone recommend a good car detailer in the Fife or Edinburgh who could carry out good protection for outside of the car a la LIFESHINE Thanks Allan.
  4. My holder was a little off centre and didn't grip tightly into rear cupholder. Solved the problem with a small section of bike tyre inner tube wedged down one side. Now sits square and tight with no rattles or movement.
  5. Couldn't believe the cheapest price I could find was from my dealer - West End Skoda Dunfrmline. Ordered on Tuesday for the princely sum of £6.71 inc VAT and collecting it today. The guy at the parts dept. was unaware of this new holder, and the FL Mk3 in the showroom had the old style holder!
  6. As far as I am aware it was done under warranty, though to be honest , I believe all that was required was for the dealer to modify the door seals under instruction from Skoda UK. I did not pay for the mod so was happy I would mention this to your dealer as it is a problem they are likely to be aware of.
  7. Had 2 minor water related problems with my MY16 Octavia, both of which were quickly rectified by my dealer under warranty. 1. Water collecting in front door sills and dumping out when doors opened. 2. Very bad condensation in one rear light cluster. Cluster replaced 7 months ago and so far so good.
  8. Updates are back , looks like they had a system glitch over the weekend. Only thing is it is still the May version of the maps,
  9. Today when I entered my Vin into the update Portal to check for new Maps data for my Amundsen Mib2 it gave me the following....... Data for the map data was not found. Please contact your dealer. My Octavia is 15 months old so would still expect to get updates Anyone else seen this? Or have answer to why I get this response?
  10. Just ask out of curiosity, Is there any reference material that details what work my skoda dealer will carry out at each of the 3 services. Oh for the days of the service book we got with our shiny new car that showed what work was to be done at each service. Is it just me or am I just getting old.
  11. To be honest , I bought my car from stock and had no idea what wheel size was, only know the dealer confirmed to me it would be £30 tax when I signed up for it and the V5C confirmed this when it arrived through the post !
  12. I have Octavia 1.4TSI 150PS and V5C states co2 as 120 G/KM. As per the link below up to and including 120 g/km equates to £30 tax 121-130 equates to £110 tax. http://carfueldata.dft.gov.uk/search-by-ved-band.aspx Hope this clears things up. PS I have 17 inch wheels from factory on my car !
  13. BATVANVRS,Thanks for the link, but I have MIB2. Can I use the same link for MIB 1 ?
