  1. I now regularly use them for both mine and my wife's cars. I cannot recommend them enough. I have used them for minor services up to gearbox problems. What I love about them is that theres no messing about like some garages. They find the fault and fix it within days. Full gearbox removal, gear selectors replaced, clutch and flywheel and my car was back in 3 days. I wont use anyone else.
  2. Bulbs were knackered. Still bewildered why there is no warning light for it. Thanks again buddy.
  3. I was thinking that but wouldn't a warning light display on the dash? My Octy displays straight away. I will still try tho.
  4. Hi guys. Sorry to raise this post from the dead but I have just bought a '12 Fabia MC for the wife and I only found the button mistakenly as I was fitting a ignition live feed for a dash cam. I switch it either way and it doesn't turn any lights on. There are bulbs in the sockets so I know that DRL are present on the car. Any ideas? I have read on another post that they can be disabled from the factory but why would they do that if theres a switch??
  5. You were correct. There wasn't anything in 28, it was in another slot. Also, I had left another fuse out as I had a box of fuses and i thought i had just moved one but I had also removed one and forgot to put it back in. Thanks again my friend. Really appreciate your assistance.
  6. Aha! I dont think theres one there as my diagram on the back of the fuse box cover didnt state it. I will check and get back. Thanks
  7. Good evening. I have fitted a new circuit via an "add-a-fuse" into my heated mirror slot for a dash cam in my wife's new ride. I very much think I have slotted a fuse back into the wrong slot whilst checking which I could use as an ignition only live. This has now caused my heat pack light (coil light) on the display to flash along with my engine management light. So, my question is. Does anyone have the same spec car? I need to find out what fuse needs to be where as its driving me mad. Could someone please take a quick snap of theirs? Just so I can compare. Very basic spec. 2012 Fabia Monte Carlo No rear electric windows No heated seats No heated front screen No reverse sensors Swing radio ....You get the picture. TYI
  8. It was a selector fork in the gearbox for gears 1 & 2. I didn’t try any other gears because it didn’t go into 1st & 2nd I didn’t try any 3 and up. £650 for just the selector as it’s moslty labour for a box removal. They had to remove the box to see what the problem was and eventually sort it so, I had the clutch, flywheel, slave or master cylinder (I’m not sure which one) and all seals and oil changed. After all it’s 9 year old 120k mike car. The probability of the clutch going in the next year or two is high so for £220 more I got it all done. I’m £870 lighter, but it’s all sorted. I hope no one else reading this has this unfortunate cost of this.
  9. Me too. Had a quick look on eBay earlier and it’s £450 for a second hand gearbox and around £200 for a clutch. Which are both without labour.
  10. So... I’m driving home in this spiffing weather we are having. I pull off, enter a roundabout and, “CLUNK!” No Drive, I coasted off the busy roundabout and pulled over. The gearstick moves like its selecting gear but it’s not engaging. The clutch pedal seems a little loose/light compared to usual. I’ve read a few posts but still can’t work out what the problem may be? any ideas? Does it sound like the gearbox? Clutch? Or just something to do wlth the hydraulics which include clutch engagement. Its a ‘59 2.0 vRS Diesel Estate FL with 117,000 miles. FDSH to 90,000 and VW Specialist every service since and everything that has ever needed be to done has been done. Mechanically everything has been well looked after. Thanks in advance.
  11. I have a Pumpkin Android HU and I also have a reverse camera trigger switch wire which powers that camera when in reverse. Also, a little off topic but if you get an Aftermarket HU get the canbus wiring loom. Sooo much easier.
  12. I had this fault happen on my 09 vRS. I initially thought it was the EGR but It was the Turbo Actuator and thank god around £250 cheaper (and that was a at a VW specialist.)
  13. Can’t comment on your newer model but the part number you quote is the same as I use in my 2009 FL and it keeps it nice and snug. I have a full size spare so I don’t think it would move much anyways but it is nice to know it’s not going anywhere.
  14. Let's chill out here. When I originally posted I thought the spring and shock were one part. After watching a video on how to change them I realised they are separate. Also, it's not a big deal who's right here. The deal is that I got an idea of what may be wrong, whether it's the spring or the shock or both.
