  1. I did it on my mk5 golf after buying the bits. Relatively simple job and there is a good video on YouTube of a guy changing the bearing / ring sensor on a grey golf gti. You will need a pole/tube to get extra leverage when loosening and tightening that hub nut. I used my jack handle over my breaker bar machine mart sell the m bits too.

  3. My old one did this once. Got towed to a garage and it worked again after they fiddled about with it. Have a search of my previous threads for info.
  4. Depends how he's filling up and running it down also. To the click or a certain amount of £ and then down to the light?
  5. It's winter... All of my vag diesels have dropped off on fuel range when using air con, lights, heaters, demisters, leaving the engine on to keep warm, starting up in the morning to de ice - loads of factors. I believe there is such a thing as winter diesel too. Which apparently has stuff put in it for storage over the cold winter and by all accounts means it isn't so "diesely". Come spring/summer it should be back to normal.
  6. I can recommend taking it to monks in chandlers ford mate. Steve knows his stuff and he got my VRS going perfectly fine after it had a paddy one day. Don't take it to Skoda for an odd issue like this - unless you are prepared to receive a quote for a new engine. Garage blaming injectors, then testing them to find they are fine rings alarm bells to me. What other work has been done to it recently? Before this fault I mean....
  7. Dont rush into spending £1000s. The wheel sensor on the rear is ridiculously common. Replacing both is best as the other side will fail afterwards no doubt.
  8. Philips xrtreme vision are very good and worth the money. Use them in my cars.
  9. I got their Black Friday deal last year. Hold on and see what they offer!
  10. Cold will kill off a weak battery and Octavias seem to need a decent one to start.
  11. How did it cut out and what did it do when you tried to restart it?
  12. For Sale my excellent and very reliable Volkswagen Golf GT in a stunning colour "Shadow Blue". This was the first of the models to have the facelift darker headlights and GT Sport bumpers. The 2.0 TDI engine is excellent and offers bulletproof reliability, good performance and best of all excellent fuel economy. It averages 50mpg for me and well over 60mpg on a run. The alloy wheels are unmarked and in immaculate condition throughout with Bridgestone Potenza tyres fitted. LOW MILEAGE - It's covered 95k in its life which is nothing for these and still under 10k miles a year on average. With a FULL VAG dealer service history including the cam belt being carried out in 2015. It's been serviced every 10k miles throughout it's life with the only the last service being done by a respected independent VW specialist in Southampton. The paintwork I would say is in "good" condition. I am fussy and the car does have a few "door dings" and scratches around it in line with the age of the car. It polishes up beautifully and I have recently shampooed the interior to keep it fresh. MOT UNTIL APRIL 2018 HPI CLEAR 3 OWNERS FROM NEW Electric windows, Air conditioning, CD player, Bluetooth, Height adjustable driver's seat, Folding rear seats, Child seat points (Isofix system), Power steering, Steering wheel rake adjustment, Traction control, Central locking, Alarm, Immobiliser, Driver's airbags, Side airbags, Passenger airbags, Spare wheel (Full) PRICE IS £3600 Located in Fareham (Near Southampton) - Drop me a message if interested.
  13. You can fix that easily. Whether you buy a mirror from a scrappy in the same colour and take the bits out that you need. Easy enough!
  14. It will be Copart. Looks like a full tank of diesel too. Typical!
