  1. Can someone show how they got the switch plate out of the door please? Does it just lever out or do you have to take the internal door card off the door? I have to change the round switch that operates the door mirrors. Many thanks
  2. As another owner who has had to change the rear discs and pads at 40,000 and 4 years, I had a good look at the front discs and pads as I assumed they would be in the same or worse state, but they were perfect with only a slight lip on the disks compared to the rear. I am confused that the discs which are doing 70% of the braking had less wear and were in better condition than the rear!!! My car is parked on my driveway which has an ever so slight slope and the car has always wanted to move down the slope so the brakes have not been binding. I can only conclude with the other suggestions on this thread that the original rear Skoda discs are crap where the front are fine. Either that or Skoda in their infinite wisdom, fitted brake pads so hard that they caused premature wear. But why would they do that on the rears??? I am wondering if there is anyone on the forum that has changed the rear discs and pads some time ago and can compare the new ones with the original?
  3. Thank you Langers2K, I feel a bit silly now as I should have checked. Thank you for the prompt reply. To all the people who have drive belts, you have my sympathies as you must all be as confused as I was.
  4. Can I say that I have read all the good responses on this thread and I am now totally confused. I have a five year, 2.0 petrol Superb which will have just done over 50K when the service is due in a couple of months time and I have no idea whether I should get the Cam Belt changed or not!!!!!!!! I get the servicing done by my local garage who has serviced all my cars for the last 30 years and I know he has a computer program that tells him what needs done, when but I do check with him that certain things are done. The last service he changed the DSG Oil as I had done just over 40K. Is there anyone on the forum able to tell me if I should get the belt changed or not. I suspect Skoda are vague on the subject deliberately
  5. Have you tried this? https://www.laptopmag.com/uk/articles/format-drive-for-windows-and-mac
  6. Many thanks for all the replies people, thank you for the offer to fit it but London is a bit far to go from Edinburgh. There is an independant VW dealer near me, I will probably try him and see what he says. Thanks again guys
  7. I am getting old and my Mk III Superb and although it is a Lauren & Klement model, it does not have a Heated Steering Wheel. I am getting old and now get really cold hands. Does anyone know if I can get a heated steering wheel retro fitted please? Many thanks people.
  8. My car has about 8 inches of snow on top of it but if no one else replies, when it melts, I will do some measurements for you.
  9. I have had my car for 3 years now and the heated seats are poor at best, all they do is take the chill off the cold leather. However, other people state that their heated seats are really effective and I am now wondering if it depends if you have leather or cloth seats. I have leather seats on my car and as I said before, the heated seats are not that effective. Perhaps if others say what seats they have and whether the heated seats are good or not, we can deduce if it has something to do with the material!!
  10. I would love to know the answer to this question too!!!
  11. My 16 Plate L&K remembers the driving mode as per the KESS key used. For example, I have it on comfort mode where my wife has it on Normal Mode and the Key enables the car to set the Mode last used on that particular key. Hope this helps.
  12. Well done on finding this, will try it and let you know. I wonder why it was not enabled by default. !!
  13. I thought I would do the update using a USB Flash memory stick rather than a SD Card and it worked fine. I may have missed it in the book but it does not say you can do it this way.
  14. Re your first point re the twitchy throttle, I am guessing the reason for this is that you test drove an automatic and the Sales person stupidly put the car in Sports Mode. This happened to me and I had to put it in normal mode. I am not sure why sales people do this. When the car is in Sport Mode, it makes the throttle highly responsive and I personally do not like it. Put the car in normal mode and it is a pleasure to drive, very predictable and for a large car, handles very well. Go for another test drive and insist the car is left in Normal Mode.
