The central locking was intermittent, and sometimes the whole system would go into a loop with all the doors locking and unlocking.
Temporary fix was to take out the fuse, but the interior lights and fuel flap are on the same one.
Turned out there were three big connectors plus a rear screen-wash hose behind a panel inside the tailgate on the near side. The hose had been leaking and the connectors were under water and corroded away. Replaced the whole lot with bullet connectors, cable ties round the hose connectors, and supported all the wires higher up in case of a future leak.
