  1. Thanks Penguin... That's pretty much what I had to do - unpair it and start again... but no idea why it happened as I hadn't been on a call when I left the vehicle last night yet it was instantly 'engaged' on the call as soon as I started the ignition! See! Ghosts! :-D
  2. Nope, just the one. And I'm a creature of habit... so no change in the start up routine, and I'm the only driver of the vehicle with only one phone linked... Odder than an odd thing!
  3. This is going to be a tough one to explain - this happened some months ago and again today. The only possible similarity is we also had a power cut in the house on both occasions (Electrical storm activity interfering with the Bluetooth???). On each occasion I have got in to my car in the morning and instead of Radio 2 playing through my speakers there is silence! The display shows my phone on an active call (which is why the radio is muted) - but not who it is to - in other words it is connected to the ether not one of my contacts!! It won't let me 'cancel' the call and to reset I have to disable the Bluetooth then turn it back on. Or delete my phone and re-add it. I think it may be ghosts! ;-) Obviously it is impossible to recreate to take it in to the dealership, so if anyone has any bright ideas on how to resolve this or what/why it is happening I will be eternally grateful! Oh, and turning the ignition off and back on doesn't clear it either. Thank you!
  4. Why is that? I thought they would be better than the automatic car washes...?
  5. Whilst I'm posting and before I make a prat of myself at the dealers... If I don't stop fully at a roundabout/ junction and try to pull away in second gear, or if for example I've just slowed to let a car pass a parked vehicle and I'm still moving very slowly and then try to pull away in second gear the engine keeps cutting out. I'm not heavy footed but all my previous cars have coped well with this kind of driving. Does the Superb need me to be heavier on the throttle, does the idle need adjusting or is it something I need to mention to the dealer? Appreciate your thoughts... I'm used to cars that aren't happy with you selecting 1st unless you are at a complete stop and it seemed odd but maybe I just need to adjust my driving to suit the Skoda???
  6. Hi Folks, Hoping you can help me please. My morning started as follows; Car covered in a layer of frozen snow - Car door almost frozen shut - took a great effort to open and Wing Mirrors didn't open fully (am I supposed to do something to defrost them before unlocking?) Started car and radio came on as usual - shut the door and proceeded to chip the frozen Ice/Snow off the windows - OK so far on that front! Got in car, and radio had gone off - went to 'Radio' and it still had R2 selected... tried changing between DAB and FM - no joy, nothing, nada, not even crackling! Not sure what I may have inadvertently pressed or has the cold 'got to it? On the display in the middle of the dash I always have my consumption data... but it had gone to phone data for my mobile I haven't seen before and it wouldn't go back to the consumption data until I parked up and had a fiddle. I'm concerned I've done something... or not done something I should have. Should the car have these problems because of a bit of snow - it's not like we get much in the UK - what do they do in colder countries? It's only -1C! Finally - Am I right in thinking ABS should be off on Ice and Snow? I can't view the manuals on my work PC can anyone tell me how to disable it pls? Thank you!
  7. Hi All, Have now had the Superb for 3 months and loving it! Only niggle is I find it really difficult to select reverse. Is it a quirk of the Skoda Gearboxes or do I need to get it looked at? Many thanks! ***Edited to say it's a Manual Box***
  8. I was thinking about heading along to West Meon for the meet but mid week in rush hour it's over 2 hours and by the time I get there you'll all be thinking about going home... I also start work at 6:30 so it's definitely not possible... So - for those of us in the Bucks/Oxon area (and anyone else who might fancy it) I was thinking about the Oxford Services on the M40 (Jn 8A)... Purely because of the parking and accessibility. Is this something that might interest people? I know it's not the most appealing of venues but there is a KFC... Your thoughts?
  9. I didn't spec it - the spare wheel came with the car from the factory - the dealership 'messed' up my order so I got this car, originally I wasn't having a spare wheel... Nor was I having a full cage - I only decided on it when I realised there were alarm sensor wires in the rear windows and I didn't want the dogs damaging them. I have the code for the wheel nut fortunately. I've never had a car where the locking nut kit was in the boot - they've always been in the glove box. Fortunately I have a spare aerosol repair kit which I keep in the car so it shouldn't be too much of an issue... for me the spare is just a selling point when I eventually pass the car on.
  10. I'f you're free to pop up and give me a hand - see my earlier response... it was hard going to get it in without damaging the trim or paintwork as it's a custom... very tight fit.
  11. I'll go for the ebay option - it takes 2 peaple to dismantle and lift out the crate which is what you have to do... it weighs over 35kg and is a very tight fit as it's made to measure!
  12. Can anyone recommend somewhere I can buy a spare locking wheel nut please? Not the ridiculous price of £36 charged by the dealer! Not that I'm lazy but the dealer has put it in with the spare wheel... which now has a boot liner and a huge dog crate over the top of it. I can't be bothered to haul it all out! Many thanks
  13. It's the pressures not the tyres themselves I am querying... I just want to get the optimum wear vs economy ratio with the pressures. I'm not about to change tyres that have only done 420 miles - I'm not that rich.
  14. Hello again you awesome lot... Now I have also managed to get the sig... does it automatically update as you make changes in Fuelly or do you have to change your signature when you refuel?
