  1. Does anyone have the part number of the housing? It's corroded away at some hatch in it, so i'll need a new one to tranfer the lock cylinder itself too.. Mine's got a remote lock it if matters.
  2. Thanks .. well as it turned out, my mechanic told me I'd done it right, the issue just was that it had corroded, which apparently took some digging before he could separate the parts.
  3. So is there any final guide on doing this? I found a few resources, that basically told me to open the door, and unscrew both screws almost all the way out .. i managed to drop the upper one in the door (Wasn't actually me who did that..), so it came off entirely .. But then when i undid the lower one i got it to hold the door handle open which it's supposed to, and then i tried 3 different plastic breaker tools, but i never managed to get the lock out, because my plastic pry tools, as solid as they were were no match for the lock. The only thing which only ever nearly came off was the painted plastic bit over the lock cylinder which is part of the trim.. Anyway, since i did drop the top screw in there I'm assuming i'll have to remove the door card to get it out, and i got a guy probably handling all of this for me today, because for now i give up on DIY'ing this. Still .. if needed in the future I'd really appreciate a guide if it differs from the second link.. For those of you curious .. here's some links on doing it, which didn't end up helping me .. Not sure if it's because the lock does sit REALLY tight or what but.. http://workshop-manuals.com/skoda/octavia-mk1/body/body_work/front_door_central_locking/front_door/remove_and_install_outer_door_handle/
  4. Does anyone know the part numbers of the furthest side air vent's, left and right?
  5. So i'm not in England .. what years and thus models would an 53 plate be?
  6. Curious to se if anyone knows the plastic protector part numbers for all four wheel wells? This would be a for a 2003 vrs, estate.
  7. Kinda confused .. i read that early on in this thread you swapped engines, and later i saw something about it being 2.0 tfsi coilpacks .. so what engine is actually in it now? I thought it was the original 1.8T though a modded one? Does the 2.0 tfis coilpack do anything for a stock engine?
  8. Yes you need to be be accurate to avoid blotchiness, but it's not hard and doesn't take much time, however it wont fade, I've been doing this to cars for years and it's always outlasted re-painting the trim by years, or using tyre compounds such as meguiars
  9. SO I'm looking to wire in a cabin heater in my car since this winter seems to demand it, and i've already got an engine heater connected (defa one) so all i need do is get a T coupling and hook another cable up and into the cabin, preferably in the right hand seats (passenger seat to Me) legspace, so below the glovebox somewhere, ideally along the sides .. Anyone aware of any access to there, either through the A-pillar or near the center console? Ff there's any slots there, though I'd really prefer not to have to tear down the entire center panels or the entire dash or some such.
  10. I'd suggest heat gun, i recently used that on all my plastic trim, and it came out perfect, brought all the oils back to the surface so they look as thought from the store, brand new.
  11. Seems photobuckets been on the fritz following some maintenance, so im guessing things went very very wrong
  12. All images dead .. terrible! Please re-post.
  13. I can't really express how much restoring all the pictures in this thread would be helpful, in fact if you have them all and want to build up a new thread or something (one which should be stickied) i can permanently host the images someplace where they'll never ever be deleted
  14. It's most pronounced in second gear, i hit the gas, basically flooring it, it hits say 3500 rpm or so and loses power momentarily, but then hits the turbo again .. It's sort of the same sensation as though you were driving an automatic with kickdown, except im not changing gears. BUt in fifth gear it'll only take me to about 100 mph before the power kinda stalls out, and as i've been watching the smoke from the tailpipe i know the turbo is fine anyway.. So i was told the most likely culprits was either the MAF, or the fuel filter, and checking service history the current fuel filter must've done close too 120K miles.. And as cleaning the MAF seems easy enough i thought it'd be an excellent first thing to check and clean.
  15. I saw a video on yotube on this, and from what i've seen of the engine bay on mine it seemed to match fairly well with what was presented in the video below: NOw, beyond that, anyone got any tips, tricks or advice for Me regarding cleaning or dismantlig that sensor? Otherwise I'll just get on with it, and use the special spray i got from CRC and hope the 'hesitation' i feel is resolved, if not i'll replace the fuel filter too, after changing out the airfilter to a pipercross sportflow one as they've been lauded on this forum.
