  1. Drove my Edition model in the dark for the first time last night and tried the light assist setting (LED headlights). If you stick the light switch in Auto and pull the light stalk until the beam icon has an A in the beam icon it goes into Light Assist mode. This means the lights will automatically switch between dipped and full beam automatically. It's okay, but not perfect. Coming into villages it can be hit or miss if it dips, then leaving a village but still in a 40 mph zone it won't go back to full beam until you are over 60km/h. Does work fine for oncoming traffic though. Light quality if very impressive on main beam, felt the dip beam was a little low aiming and can't find a way to adjust it as it seems to be auto adjust. This is all on country back roads where you need every bit of light help you can get. Overall, impressed but not a huge step-up over Xenon lights I would say. Wonder what Laser lights will be like!?!
  2. Hi all, took delivery of a 2.0 TDI 150 Edition 2WD earlier in the week. Had it delivered to work and driving it home the first thing that struck me was the low speed ride was very brittle, overall comfort seemed fine but it was the slow speed stuff, especially on poor quality urban streets where it felt overly harsh. Took a look at the recommended tyre pressures on the inside of the fuel filler cap and it recommended 2.4 bar for normal driving (3 adults and luggage). Fully loaded with people and luggage it says 2.7 bar. I used my own Halfords electric pump and sure enough all 4 wheels were at 2.7 bar (one at 2.75 bar). Lowered the pressures to 2.4 bar, reset the tyre pressure monitor through the infotainment and took it for a spin and have to say the difference was pretty amazing. No longer did it feel like it was skipping over ruts and bumps, and it actually felt comfortable (I have 19" Triglav wheels). So there you go, unless you're max'ing the land capacity, and you're not entirely happy with the ride check you tyre pressures against the recommended pressures on your car and it could make a big difference to the way it drives.
  3. The main soda-auto website has an updated visualiser with new wheels and colours. The Vega wheels are now included and also new paint. This is Mato Brown with Vega wheels. The new options aren't on the Configurator though, and aren't on the UK visualiser yet either.
  4. Just to warn people Fleetprices figures have gone up. If you had a quote you might be okay but looks like their low prices are finished. I ordered a 2.0 TDI 150 Edition DSG in Quartz grey with black leather, no options 3x23 10k miles £318.50 x 23 £955.50 upfront £240 fee £355.04 per month amortised. Fleetprices are now quoting (wait for it...) £815.55 for the same model. Looks like Mad Sheep on contracthireandleasing are best value now, or go to a dealer and haggle.
  5. Hi all, have ordered a 2.0 TDi 150 Edition DSG on PCH from Fleetprices, car is due in May. Have gone for Quartz Grey with black leather interior, no options. What I can't find any info on are the different styles of alloy wheels on the press launch cars. The standard wheels on the Edition model are Triglav (below) which I'm not a huge fan of. There are 2 styles that appear on launch pics that aren't on the configurator so I am guessing they will be accessory options. It's my first Skoda so not familiar with extras, do Skoda normally only sell these through dealers? The wheels are mostly painted with machined faces. One set look like a 20 inch version of the Superb Sportline Vega wheel. The other is like an elongated Alfa telephone dial style.
