  1. Thanks for the replies everyone. Was 2 minutes into my journey to the garage this morning and TWANG! Drivers side spring went! Couldnt make it up. About 50 miles after the passenger side. At least both sides are done and its driving much sweeter now.
  2. Cheers. Sachs site is saying the part number should be 993 053. Just trying to get as much info before I take it back tomorrow.
  3. Thanks Langers. It didn't sit right(no pun intended) with me that they were happy replacing one side only but they assured me it wouldn't be an issue. Hi Gissin, yes, it's the CEGA. That would be great, cheers.
  4. Hi folks, looking for some help from you super knowledgeable people. Recently snapped the front near side spring on my Octavia VRS CR170 estate and had the spring, top mount and drop link replaced at my local garage. Done some local driving and it was fine but got it up to motorway speeds and it felt unstable and was wandering a bit so was going to book a Hunter wheel alignment as I've been wanting to do this for a while anyway but it crossed my mind that the garage might have put the wrong spring on so went out with the measuring tape and it was sitting about 16mm higher. Took it to a flat carpark as I live on a bit of a hill and it was only about 5mm out. Everywhere I try and measure it I get a different result! It's going back to the original garage tomorrow for them to take a look but the part number for the spring they've used is 627780520(sachs part) is this the correct part no? Thanks in advance
  5. Polished with Menzerna 2500 with Collinite 476 s on top.
  6. Not sure if its cheating posting a plastic lens but this caught my eye so took a snap of it. Also inspired by Jars above!
  7. Looks like the very one. Badge on the wing looks identical.
  8. Very nice. What car is that? Meguiars do some great products for black cars. Gold class spray wax is particularly good. Great on glass as well.
  9. Making the most of being furloughed! Britemax black max with Collinite 476s on top. Haven't used the Collinite in years but need to use up some stock before I can buy more as the amount of waxes I have is ridiculous!
  10. Cool, remember and post back how you get on with it. Should give me all the excuses I need to buy even more waxes! It's an addiction I'm telling you.
  11. Cant say I have, no. Theres so many variables at play when applying a wax to say what could have went wrong for someone to get hazing. Theres potential issues with every wax if your prep isn't 100% though.
  12. You're spoiled for choice but as the man above said, you wont go wrong with bilt hamber double speed wax. Great results and wont break the bank. Usually between £15-£19. I use the done and dusted si on it when it needs a boost as well. Seem to work well together.
  13. I'd have a look on the in2detailing website. I'm sure the one for my Karcher was about £19. I've been using polar blast through it with great results although I'll probably try bilt hamber next as now the novelty of shaving foam thickness has wore off I want something with a bit more cleaning power. Use code DW10 or forensic for 10% off at the checkout as well. You'll need to select the correct fitting for your pressure washer as well.
  14. Good choice. Dont be scared to bend them to get between the spoke and brake caliper either. I've been doing it to mine for two years and it still feels solid
  15. EZ detail brush gets my vote. Large or small would do it although the large can get into small gaps as well. Had my small one two years and it's got plenty life left in it yet. Very safe on the wheels as well. No exposed metal or hard plastics at all.
