Thanks for the fast reply man! I dont floor my car normally as I try to drive as fuel saving as possible, sometimes I do like to play around tho. I was considering the peugeot 206 SW as the other car. So your saying its should could average 40 mpg/17 km/l at around 70 ? Thats actually really really good, considering most of my driving is at 55ish! I do roadtrip around 2000-3000 km pr summer, so the fuel economy is pretty important at highway speeds.

Hi guys, I read loads of topics about the MPG but it doesnt make sense to me. I borrowed a fabia 1.4 16v, 75 bhp manual, and i average around 15-16 km/l, but then i realised they are a LOT higher geared than the 101 version. I was going to look at a really neat 101 model, but if it got a ****ty fuel economy, that might make me consider another car. So just a couple of questions: How much RPM are the 101 taking at 60-70-80 miles pr hour? And what do you average MPG wise, and how do you drive? Thx!

Hi guys, greetings from Denmark! Im going to look on a Fabia 1.4 16v ..tomorrow, its sats its a 101 HP on the registration papers, but how can i be 100℅ sure, it might been chance to a 75 once.. What engine code is the 100/101 bhp engines and where do i spot it?

Hi guys! I've decided to try skoda for the first time in my life but im having a real hard time deciding! I've locked my eyes on either the Fabia mk1, 1.4 16v 100 hp, as my GFs mother got a 1.4 75, nice car, really fun to drive (im not used to small cars) feels liek a gocart., not much power, does okay on fuel tho and sounds awesome. In the other corner there is an 2003 Octavia mk1 elegance 1.8t, i like how the car looks, and it is a lot more tuneable than the fabia, altho people tell me all kind og different MPG readings on em. Never driven one , yet. I've been told, that in reality I should see the same fuel economy on both cars, I mostly drive very eco friendly. I do launch it sometimes tho and will consider my self a petrol head. The car are going to be used on my daily commute (nothing more than 4-5 kilometers) and on road trips during winter/summer (hint: this is my MPG concern) I've like the fabia a lot, but if the MPG is the same as the 1.8t when i thrash it, and with 17" inch wheels, I might as well go for the turbo? What do ya think?
