  1. No, Update, I found the filler cap next to the battery, so now I have two of them It doesnt use much oil use at all, Just checked it again now, and its half way up the dip stick "Safe zone" I assume the warning was from the battery disconnect as the clock was also reset..? I think I use the recomended Oil... Although it may have been 0-40 as they didnt have the one I needed last time... not sure what I have now.
  2. Success. New Battery solved the problem. Thanks to those above who pointed me at. Added a video for others who may stumble upon this... Excuse the Dusty car. It really is a clean car, although the dust and state of the Engine bay may not convince you. (Screen shot of the battery I bought as well...)
  3. Screen now fixed! Battery expected on the 15th now.... will update when sorted. Cheers
  4. There was a problem with the battery order, so it hasn't arrived yet! hopefully it will be here tomorrow. (Also noticed that my windscreen was cracked! It was fine when I drove it on Sunday, but when checking the battery fittings i noticed a 10 inch crack in the drivers eye line! no chip or other damage, so no idea what caused it. That is being replaced tomorrow.)
  5. Thanks All. Yes it is the original battery, on a 60 plate. so nearly 10 years old. I spoke to A friend who said they had had the exact issue on a Yeti and it went away after a new battery. I have a oil cap and Battery ordered. Will post again with the results this week. Cheers all. Brin
  6. To reset it, you need to take the key out, put key back in and then turn the ignition on (Not the engine,) Then hold the pressure button for 5 seconds till the light goes out. If this is what you are doing, then I dont know!
  7. Hi All, Its been a long time since I posted anything here! My Fabia VRS Mk2 has only been used for long journeys since lock down began. Last week I drove to Aberdeen and back so a 800 mile round journey. I checked the oil before that trip, and forgot to put the oil cap back on. (Don't think that is related?) After driving about 2 miles today, I got bunch of orange lights on the dash, Tyre pressure, power steering and EPC. The car was ruining but seemed to not be able to move. After turning off and on again, I get the EPC and Motor light come on, and a rapid clicking noise. but the engine doesn't start. I managed to pull it out of gear and push it onto the driveway, but now it wont move. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks Brin
  8. Cheers, will look into them. I already have a remap with 200bhp achieved. Will call and ask for options 🙂
  9. Hi all, I havnt posted for a while but I have been lurking... I’m sure this has been asked before. My back box needs replacing and the dealer has quoted £460. Can’t anyone recommend replacement back box that doesn’t sound like a drone at motorway speeds for similar or cheaper price? I had a cat back system on a Clio sport years ago and while it sounded good, the 3” tail pipe made a decent racket, it woke the neighbours up every morning and it was a bit annoying on long drives. As I leave for work at 6 am I don’t think it would be appreciated on the vrs... most alternatives I have found are either full systems, or custom made. Which are more expensive. A slight louder noise would be good, but not stupidly loud. should I stick with the OEM from the dealer? Or are there alternatives I havnt found? Car is on about 90,000 miles now so it may be time to change soon! cheers.
  10. yep, mine have a wire to the back of the unused "blue" one as well... (Just poped in to the forum to find out how to remove the bulb... looks simple in the instruction book!) I tool some pics as well.. ---EDIT--- Its a bit tricky to see from the picture... The top of the unit is on the right of the picture, in the wires shot, and the top of the unit is the left of the outside shot. (simple.. haha) The two Brown-ish wires are going to the unused blue bulb. and the Black connector cap is the back of the main, dipped bulb.
  11. Sounds like madness to me!! Aren't the door sills just an adhesive strip? what is there on the sill to be warranty worthy anyway?
  12. No I haven't Checked. I forgot to be honest! I will give Skoda UK a call tomorrow, I imagine they will be more honest about it? Cheers
  13. Thanks for the reply chaps. Just to complete this topic... All sorted now (I hope) I took it to the repairer this morning. They checked the connections and plugged averything back in and now it is working again, I suspect something came lose after my first drive. On the plus side, after getting two new doors on the car, they dont rattle any more! Cheers Brin
  14. That was my Question Kammy, Where should I look to check what needs to be plugged in, if anything is loose? I have called the bodyshop, but no-one is there on a Saturday, so I will call again on Monday. Bit of a pain as its a bit tricky for me to get into them, so I was hoping it would be something I could spot. No, it hasnt been in for any reacall.. Sounds a bit ominous!
