  1. My horn has gone on my superb and I have found they are located below a panel on top to the grill. I removed the 2 torq screws each side but there appear to be 2 pins at the back in the centre that need to come out to allow the panel to be pulled out. However I can not seem to get them to move more than a few mm upwards. Anyone have any know who to remove this panel?
  2. The boot in the Superb is really no bigger than the Octavia (only a few cm in length different). If you bike fits in the Octy OK then it will fit in the hatch Superb. Since the Superb has more space between the rear of the boot to the back of the front seats you may even find that you can get the bike in without having to remove the wheel.
  3. As my seat is all the way back and pretty much all the way down I have this option by default!!!!
  4. Bought mine from Sinclair Swansea too but I only live about 4 miles from them. This is my third car bought from them and they have been great each time.
  5. Have you considered getting your current seats reupholstered instead of replacing them? I would have thought the L&K seats or leather VRS seats would be a direct changeover.
  6. Unfortunately so many companies/people are caught up in the short term view that they fail to realize this point. Take a small hit now and you will reap the benefits later with customer loyalty (and the fact they will probably pay a premium for the peace of mind of getting things sorted when needed).
  7. I had a VRS estate with rear parking sensors and I did not have that button on mine so it is not to do with the rear sensors.
  8. I would be going back to the insurance company/bobyshop and getting them to sort it as it is clearly substandard work and it should not flake off like that in such a short time. I would be wanting them to do it for free and put right what they have not done correctly in the first place.
  9. I would not recommend the PD VRS for short journeys as you will more than likely get DPF issues at some point. Also if looking at older diesel VRS's then make sure they still have their DPF and that it has not been removed since the MOT rules have tightened up a fair bit on DPFs. The later CR engine was a lot better with the DPF and also gave a more linear power delivery compared to the PD engines. The facelifted VRS's could be specced with a full leather interior (I had it on mine) and this was very practical with a young family and wore well too (had the car for nearly 8 years and the interior still looked good).
  10. On the Mk2 (and I assume still the same on the Mk3) I always saw the range splitting at the SE level and you either went more luxury with the Elegance spec or sporty with the VRS with the ranging coming together again at the top with the L&K. so you either spent your money on more luxury bits (like folding mirrors and colour maxidot screen) and went the Elegance or it went on more sporty bits and so you did not get the luxury items. If the VRS had all the luxury bits of the Elegance at the same cost then the Elegance would be a bit of a non model and harder to sell I suspect. Or you you would need to put the price of the VRS up which would not be popular either.
  11. Would you put the BMW 335d or 340d in the same 'fake' category?
  12. It is possible to fit any seat with the right modifications to the sub frame. So they may not be a straight swap but where there is a will then there is always a way.
  13. There could be some old stock that needs to be sold so a common variant with no extras maybe able to be ordered but will need to be delivered before the 1st September I believe. Any car that is made before the testing has been done and not sold by that date will have to be destroyed as it can not be sold. This is why they have closed their books until the testing has been done. The testing has to be done on every single variation so you have to test the base model with each engine but if you can add a sunroof for example to each model then this also needs to be tested and so on. I think the Audi A4 has something like over 800 variations that need to be tested which is why you can see it is taking some time. I believe Seat have sped their testing up by greatly reducing the options list at the moment and hence reducing the number of possible variations to test.
  14. This will happen at all dealers and is due to new regulations coming in that means all variants (not just engines) of cars have to be tested. This has meant they have stopped new orders on most cars at the moment until the testing is done. You would have the same issue ordering a non VRS Octavia or a Superb etc. You will either need to wait until the order books reopen (expected to hopefully be September) or you will have to look at another make of car (all VAG cars are affected by this to a greater or lesser extent).
  15. I wonder if the higher used prices for the Octavia are due to the current long waiting times on new ones meaning there is more interest in secondhand ones hence keeping the price artificially high. If this is the case then there should be a correction in price once all the new regs and testing have gone through and waiting times are back to more normal levels.
