  1. I play guitar too and played for this lot until I was 'asked to leave' !! lol MySpace.com - CARTER - Bathgate, UK - Electro / Indie / Rock - www.myspace.com/carterukcom My music tends to be of the blues, blues rock, soul and R&B, mod and Brit-pop (although I hate that term) variety. Cheers Hugh
  2. Thanks Stu, don't know much about this so will have a quick search and see what pops up. Cheers Hugh
  3. Hi Folks, Just really picking your collective brains for some recommendations here if I could I've searched the site but couldn't really see much by way of what people had done on here by way of ICE upgrades to the Octy 2 vRS. I'm looking to upgrade the H/U and speakers if I can with the H/U accomodating a 3rd Gen iPod. Really into just getting a good quality setup but no huge amps and/ or bass bins etc but good quality sound reproduction. Does anyone here have any recommendations etc for such an upgrade? Many thanks in advance and apologies too if this has been covered before. Cheers Hugh
  4. Will do Octavia5, thanks for the info. I've emailed the dealer I got the car from too as it is not local to me so can't really take the car back to them. I haven't heard any fans going and/ or brake lights going on when the car is 'off' but will tell the dealer this as well as keep a good eye out when I get the car back incase it is something like this. Cheers Hugh
  5. Hi Rizla, Cheers for the info, much appreciated. I take it you'd be able to hear the fans etc if they were coming on after you'd parked the car up? The RAC man yesterday said that the initial drain may have been the fact the battery was on it's way out and I had all the doors open for 30mins + yesterday when I was valeting the car. That would have killed what little charge it had in it maybe? I will be interested to hear what the garage says tomorrow and hope they can fix it. Worst case scenario is that I get a phone call at 4.30pm to say, 'yes, it's your battery'!! Will be doing more jumps (starts!) than Princess Anne at this rate Cheers Hugh
  6. Hi Stu, Thanks for the info, got the bump start to get me to the dealer who can't look at the car til tomorrow. Just back at work now and tried the car again and totally dead :( A friend at work is loaning me some jump leads to get me home tonight and then back to the dealers tomorrow. We'll see what they make of it tomorrow I suppose but hope it's not too serious. Cheers Hugh
  7. Yes, going to do that today if I can but now waiting on the RAC again as the car won't start again! lol Cheers Hugh
  8. Looks like my 06 mk2 vRS needs a new battery :( Gave the car a good clean and valet today, went to start the car, nothing!! Called Skoda assistance and they sent the RAC out within an hour (not too bad I thought) and they found the battery was pretty flat! They jump started the car then ran a battery check which it failed on. One theory is that as I had the doors open for a while when I was doing the valet, it may have ran down the lowish output from it? I'm think that maybe my car hasn't done much for a while (06 plate with 2.5k mileage) which has maybe damaged the battery now. Also got the 'bulb out' indicator on the dash coming on but no bulbs are out? APART, from that everything else is great, took it for a short blast after the RAC were finished and it reminded me what I loved about the mk1 Octy vRS I had. Just looks like I'll be phoning my local dealer tomorrow to try to get them to have a look at the battery and bulb light issues. Didn't buy the car from them (didn't have one in the spec or price range) but hope that won't cause any bother, fingers crossed. Cheers for now, Hugh
  9. Yes, Stu panic over. Once I checked the tyre pressures and they were OK I kinda thought it was sensor related. My fault for not reading the manual when I got home yesterday but I had a little 6 month old lady to keep happy when I arrived at home too (excuses, excuses!). My old MK1 vRS didn't seem to be so advanced either compared with some of the features this one has so apologies for the annoying questions. I got the manual out last night and actually got 5 mins to read it when I found the reset procedure. Cheers for now, Hugh
  10. Sorted, helps when you actually RTFM Cheers Hugh
  11. Apologies if I'm being a complete idiot here but could you elaborate a bit more as to what I do here? Really, really sorry in advance if I am being a half-wit Cheers Hugh
  12. Hi folks, Just back from Darlington (MSB) with my new (well, new to me) Race Blue Octy vRS and first impressions are so far great. Apart from the slight issue of the tyre sensor warning light on the dash coming on halfway home (checked the tyres and they are OK so presuming it's a sensor fault). Anyway, it feels a bit more refined than my MK1 vRS (which had a bit of trickery done to it) and the power/ engine is very smooth. It almost feels like it's asking you to give it more power! lol Anyway, MSB were fine with me and would recommend anyone considering a purchase give them a shout. I mentioned I was Hugh from the Briskoda forum so they might remember if you get in touch with them. cheers Hugh
  13. Hi there, Just picked up my new (ish) Octy vRS (mk2) and on the drive home the sensor light popped on. I have checked the tyre pressures and they are all OK , is this a trip back to the dealer or is there an easy way to reset this slight problem? The car has been switched off a few times but the dash light still comes on. Any help or advice with this small issue is much appreciated, Cheers Hugh
  14. Cheers chaps, nice to be back.......really just hope the new vRS proves to be as good as my old one (which I still miss to this day....I'm very sad I know! lol) Cheers Hugh
