Have a month left on extended warranty so would appreciate any views on this before taking car in........... I've been told that the blue smoke coming from the exhaust when starting from cold is nothing to worry about as 'they all do that'. Oil level is on 'Min' - but due annual service in two weeks . Cheers John

My 57 Octy vRS is the same, have thought about getting a re-map to smooth out the power delivery; have wheel spun in 3rd @50mph when the power kicked in :p

Have a look here http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyres_For/Skoda/Octavia-vRS.htm I put 4 Uniroyal RAINSPORT 2's on SWIMBO's Furbie vRS last year & they are outstanding ! Will soon be putting two on my Octy vRS

Random reset of "Memory 2" of total-trip memory

Experienced something similar with SWIMBO's Furbie. I THINK its down to the #2 Timer that resets after 99hrs & 59 mins -
Just had the following quote from a dealer for my 07 vRS Fabia, can anyone recommend a good independent Garage in the Leyland (Lancs) area ?? 4 yr Service £322 Cambelt & waterpump change £396 Cheers

Took my Octy in for some work on the Tailgate Release Solenoid yesterday, &, in addition to fixing the original problem, it turned out there was also water collecting in the wheel well - nearly half full apparently due to a leaking seal - had wondered why there was so much condensation on the rear windscreen new seal £25

Same thing happens at my local Tesco's. I turn in, scan for a vacant pump, sod which side its on, & fill up while feeling a bit guilty Also my tesco has pumps in tandem; when the pump furthest away is unused, why do folk wait for the second pump to be free before driving forward & using the first pump ?? In the 'old' days i think some hoses were just a tad too short & folk had trouble fitting the nozzle in at the right angle or they were worried that the hose could damage paintwork if they had to stretch it over the car. My late Dad always used to use the pump nearest to the filler cap

Hi & welcome. Another Happy Driver on board (nearly) The only issues i have with my vRS are the brakes, which are just about adequate at best; but as i very rarely go near the limit i can live with it. There are lots of threads on here about upgrading the front brakes & if you want to drive enthusiastically, you'll need an ARB as the Fabia rolls horribly Tyre wise I have put 4 Uniroyal RainSport 2's on & the grip is fantasic, especially in the wet, plus the ride is a bit softer & quieter than the Conti's that they replaced vRS pulls like a train, goes like the clappers & I still get 50+ mpg doing mostly urban driving, but the best bit is seeing other so called hot hatches & big Beemers & Audis dissapear in the rear view mirror he he he Enjoy
