  1. Actually it does, the spec sheet linked specifically states "two coaxial dry multiple-disk clutch, electro-hydraulically operated". I reckon it must be a typical Skoda typo . As I'm not aware of a 6-speed dry clutch gearbox variant I agree with you that it must be the wet clutch.
  2. Well, I was sure I read a press release that mentioned the DQ250 for the 1.4, but the spec sheet I can find now suggests that it's a dry clutch on both the petrol models: http://www.skoda-auto.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/news/SKODA-KODIAQ-technical-data-petrol-16-09-01.pdf The SEAT ateca sister car uses a dry 7-speed on the 2WD, but the DQ250 wet clutch on the 4x4 http://deluxe.com.mk/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Ateca-katalog.pdf Im more confused now
  3. As the 1.4 DSG is using the wet clutch DQ250 transmission there's certainly scope for more performance without troubling the torque limits. Maybe it's running a bit more boost, or Skoda are sandbagging the figures a bit to encourage buyers into the larger more expensive engines. Curious to note that he mentions a 7-speed DSG, but the 1.4 is only a 6 speed DSG. A slip of the tongue, or was he actually in the 2.0 TSI ? Interesting !
  4. Hi, Some of the early publicity shots and videos showed an interesting option to stop one's head rolling around while attempting to sleep in the backseat of a moving car. In essence there are two "wings" that rotate around to support the head, these can be seen at the following site: http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/models/kodiaq/clever-inside I've not seen any mention of this option in the configurator, and cars in test drive videos do not appear to have this fitted. Has anyone heard if this will be available in the UK?
  5. I have a humming from the rear of my new Scout around 60-70mph. It doesn't appear to be load dependent, and is present when the clutch is dipped. I'm only 1k miles in, and had assumed this was down to the noisy Pirelli P7s fitted as it appears worse on some road surfaces. What tyres are you on?
  6. Here's one of my car and a shot that I'd found previously of another Briskoda member's car.

Photo's of my Metal Grey Octavia Scout.
  8. Not just me then. I was thinking that the Pirelli P7s on my new Scout drone badly around the 70mph area, but was hoping that they may settle in once it gets a few miles on the car ( only done 700 so far ).
  9. I've been given an estimated delivery of "early April".
  10. It's a strange situation when Skoda's own press video has footage of a scout towing a caravan. ( from 6:45 on ).
  11. That's interesting that you have 215/60s. This doesn't appear to be type approved for the Scout, but it is a common Yeti size. Only a slight difference in rolling radius which isn't enough to worry about.
  12. I've been doing a bit of reading in to the approved winter wheel and tyre sizes for the Scout. According to the Download available here from Skoda DE the approved sizes are:- 205/60 R16 92V on a 6J x 16 H2 ET48 205/55 R17 91V on a 6J x 17 H2 ET48 225/50 R17 94V on a 7J x 17 H2 ET45 ( not suitable for snow chains ). 205/60x16 is quite a common size and relatively inexpensive.
  13. Hi, It's one of those strange anomolies with leasing that sometimes you are better to contract at the lower rate, then pay the "pence per mile charge ( 7.2p on most VAG products). Not sure why this is, it just works out cheaper doing it that way. According to my rusty maths the freedom contracts deal still works out cheaper than the dealer price quoted by Simpsons:- At 10k/pa contracted Simpsons = 1200 + (23*199) =£5,777 Freedom = 1501 + 239 arrangement + (23*167) = £5,581 Or, contract at 5k/pa Freedom= 2400+239 +(23*84) = 4571 then add £720 for additional 10k miles= £5,291 Whichever way you slice it this is still a cheap way to finance a £26k RRP car. I doubt that this would even cover the depreciation if one was to buy a Scout new and sell on in two years time.
  14. Which is more expensive than the links above, although I'm sure there will be some room to haggle.
