  1. My 2.0TDI 140 Octavia has the same problem. Also went to the Skoda dealer on 3 occasions where they pressure tested and all fine. Same thing, I complained and got nowhere. Very dissapointed with Skoda. I have since taken to an independant and they have diagnosed a Cracked Head which seems faily common on these engines. Tried contacting Skkoda but nothing. No longer a happy driver.
  2. We have two seats that we have swapped in an out which are the Maxi Cosi Priory XP and the Britax Duo XP. I have to say that I hate the Maxi Cosi for a number of little reasons 1. The straps always seem to twist and get stuck. 2. when trying to tighten one day it wouldn't budge. then had to get child and seat out of the car to get inside the seat finding the piece of metal that joins the two shoulder straps together had got caught on a piece of plastic inside. Fits fine but would buy again. The Britax - no problem at all. Has been wee'd on and the cover came off so easily, washed and dryed within a few hours. Its made from a material that has lots of holes in so seems to dry quickly. We have borrowed the Maxi Cosi Toby before and although it straps in very tightly it does seem to be a lot higher because of the base. Need to be careful as you have to do an exagerated down, up, down movement. Its really not a big issue but remember that you are doing this several times a day and after a year an a half there are easier options.
  3. Latest from the garage is that its a cracked head but needs sending off to confirm. Is there any way this can be caused by a cam belt change or is it just coincidence? Mis-aligned belt maybe?
  4. All thanks for the replies so far. I have since had the vehicle in a local garage and they have now performed a water pump replacement. No change at all. And more recently a head gasket agian no change. Still losing at the same rate. Still a lot of smoke especially on a cold start. and engine runs slitghtly lumpy. Still no visible signs of water loss and everyone keeps pressure testing it (5 times now) and finding nothing. Any more thoughts out there?
  5. Hoping someone can help. Recently had the CAM Belt routinely changed on my 2.0TDI by a Skoda dealer then 1 week later the coolant warning light came on. Was well below minimum so topped it up. Booked back into the dealer who pressure tested it and said nothing wrong. One month later have used 2 litres of coolant through regular top up. Seems to only loose it when running engine cold as clouds come out of the exhaust so I guess I am losing it through the engine. Long journeys are fine so when warm no issue. Skoda dealer was trying to steer me towards a head gasket but is there any other reason. What do they disturb when the replace the CAM belt. Just look like too much of a coincidence to me.
