  1. We looked at the 3008 as we had a mk1. The Mk2 is nice but is so so expensive. The boot was bigger than the Yeti but the complicated touch screen for radio and heater/air con is dangerous. Peugeot actually do not see Skoda as a competitior, they think they are competing with Audi. That has come from the horses mouth as I know someone who works for Peugeot. There UK sales to date of the 3008 are poor.
  2. The S/M is nearly a month old and here is an update. Well tow bar fitted and it tows like a dream. Caravan? What caravan??? Thank you so much for the members that recommended Phil Taylors tow bars. They were brilliant and a really professional job. Pam also made a wonderful cup of tea x 2. VCDS set to australlian and now have big MPH and also cruise control speed display enabled and thats great. Had to have a shoey of prosescco to celebrate!! We are so pleased with the car. much better than the Pug 3008. ride, handling quality, seating, leg room and towing are all amazing. The headlights make night seem like day again, had to fit upgraded bulbs to the Pug to even see 3ft in front of it. I do miss the panaramic roof. They tell me we have a 60l tank. Really? Not managed anywhere near on refueling and only 10 miles on MFD. Challange is on....how low can we go. My only gripes have been the KPH and no cruise control speed display which have been rectified with VCDS. We can live with the smaller boot and have brought a roof box for our annual trip to the south of france. The climate control dials can be difficult to see when driving. For those still unsure about smartlink, its worth every penny and easier than the standard voice control. Also brought Yeti fitted rear window blinds, boot sil protector and have door sil protectors on order. One minor problem is the oil service now indicator. this appeared after 350 miles and I reset this via 0:0 button and MFD settings. It has reappeared again after another 350 miles. I have noticed the days return to 365 after reset but the milage is showing 00000. Ideas??? do i need to reset in VCDS??? New cars are nice but this car is practical and has ticked about every box. People are generally shocked when they drive it and see inside. "oh it is nice" . I have replied Yeah and we are paying *** a month, "Your @@@@ing joking." Tell me how much was your Hyundai again ??? lol.
  3. Just purchased Skoda Original roof bars for the snow monster. We tow a caravan all the way too the south of france and wondered has anyone put a roof box AND a bike on the roof? if so what roof box do you have? Thanks
  4. I have smartlink on my Fabia and its fantastic. Just ordered a yeti (wifes) and having seen mine we had it put on as part of the deal. It IS worth every penny of the £150 Yes the Yeti has build in Sat Nav but on flick of the voice connection button and you can ask google to play music, find music, read texts, dictate texts and navigate to ......well anywhere. all without your hands leaving the sterring wheel or moving your head. I have yet to find a single person who has seen smartlink used in my Fabia say thats a waste of money or a rubbish feature!!! Infact a few of my friends with higher spec cars eg Land Rover Sport and Audis have not got this as standard and went WOW!!! If your still unsure ask the dealer to demonstrate and I am sure you will be tempted. Hope this helps
  5. About to get a new Yeti SEL drive in candy white. excites and a bit apprehensive. Replacing a pug 3008 which has been a great car for 4 years. looked at the new Ateca and not that impressed. New 3008 is silly money at 2.0 diesel spec. Anyway my question is do the SEL drive mirrors fold in ?
  6. Thanks everyone. Well test drove the new 3008 and Ateca today. Well if the mk 2 yeti is based on the Ateca then skoda are making a big mistake. It's boring, bland and overpriced. I really thought I might wait for the new yeti but now after seeing the seat, no chance. Oh it has a big boot ! Really liked the 3008, nice features and very classy cabin. iconcept was weird and typical French over realience on software and touch screens. if the screen fails your loose all the heating, sat nav controls etc. I like simple. The lane assist and blind spot warning was really good but the price and PCP deal from main dealer were disgusting. Yes I could go to a broker but still higher than a MK1 Yeti.
  7. Thanks for replies. The new 3008 is too new. no discounts or good finance deals. Also the wife hates it! looked at quashqi and she likes the Korando after seeing it at the NEC show (I did play a game of rearrange these words...dead my body over )
  8. Currently have a Peugeot 3008 2010 2.0 hdi. love the car. 103k and we tow a caravan in Europe twice a year. however it's due a new clutch front disks and possibly a timing belt. Looked at Skoda Yeti 2.0 150bhp 4x4 SE drive in quartz grey. Knowing how old the Yeti design is do I wait for the new model?Do we keep the pug? How good is the Yeti at towing? test drove the 110 bhp and loved it. finance is coming out very good as I suspect it's end of production incentives. My wife loves the Yeti driving charactistics, while I agree and love the rear space and the practical layout. It's so difficult. thoughts? ideas, towing abilities would be welcome.
  9. Before putting it on eBay. I have my dads brand new spare wheel and jacking equipment for sale. This from his just part ex fabia action 2013. He bought it as the car did not come with it. Its a 15inch five stud. Pm me if your interested.
  10. I would also move to mercs as they never break down except for:- Manuel gearbox are crap EGR valves fail injectors break cheap plastics dealers worse that VW Brakes are rubbish overpriced parts have I mentioned over priced parts????? Fuel consumption that makes you cry loose value quicker than a greek bond Great in the snow if you like white knuckle rides and dont mind where you end up! I have friends with C Class M class E class and a A class. ALL think mercs are overated and will not be returning! Oh and they all love my cheap bags of room Skoda! strongmanatforrestgym I would offer to meet you to discuss these issues on my next ski trip to France but I am afraid your never make it there!
  11. LPG as a fuel is economicaly dead. I had a 1.6 Octavia converted in 2000. cost just £250 with a government powershift grant of £1200. The price of LPG is lower but the cost of conversion, reduced fuel consumption (I got low 20's urban)and extra miles travelling to find a LPG pump is just not worth it. LPG needs to be below half price of petrol to make a saving and average prices currently 75p. I traded my car in for the Superb TDI in Feb 2009 and it was just the right time. The decline of LPG pumps and cars in the uk is rapid. The bubble has burst! Oh and LPG produces lower torque, towing my trailer tent was a real pain, the thing would not pull a skin off a rice pudding. I have to check my mirrors now to see if the caravan is still on the back!
  12. Vehicles fitted with Pumpe-Duse injectors cannot use 100% Biodiesel Also read the above line in the statement so this means that the Superb 2002-2006 cannot use 100% biodiesel.
  13. Have you tryed folding them out with the ignition on? Seems a silly question but they will not work without the ignition key in and on.
