  1. Very nice rims indeed. Havent seen rubber stretched like that since I used to have MK2 escorts. 175 / 50's 13 on 7J rims
  2. Sorry, I should have been less blunt in my response . I completley understand why you did it, just im a complete tight arse when it comes to these sort of things unless its absolutley necessary, like spending 200 quidf or main dealer to break my back door open and replace the lock recentley. That "insurance policy" did pay off, as from what I gather, more things ended up being replaced that what I was originally billed for
  3. £200 Notes! What was the labour charge on that?
  4. Hmm, think ill check my fuses, sound like ive got a similair issue to you
  5. There is also the Comfort trim which slots inbetween Classic and Elegance
  6. Is it not cheaper to buy a cheap set of Audi A4 or Passat b5.5 alloys? I was also under the impression that standard Superb wheels where ET37? Some one on here managed ot fit 15" Mercedes wheels onto his Superb as well, although the centre bore is a different size if memory serves correctly. There is certainly room for slightly different offset wheels, mine are ET45 from an Audi A4.
  7. Mines started doing this since I spilled a bottle of water in the passenger footwell, which has now also killed my interior lights again :( . Self induced water ingress, typical.
  8. Probably not the cause in this instance, but my car was stinking of fumes when sat idle whilst deforsting the car in the mornings, bit of smoke on fire up if the engine did not fire on first crank. I got the fuel filter replaced at local dealer, problem has sorted its self out, no more stink. I had done 30k on the previous fuel filter.
  9. Good to know, out of interest, did the puddle light in the mirror go first before you had further problems?
  10. Sorry, been off here a couple of days, ive found the post in question for you. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/176217-life-before-and-after-solids/page__p__2125188__fromsearch__1entry2125188 Guy called p1tud mentioned he had 3 wheels
  11. There was some one on here recently who said they had 3 Solids I seem to recall, It was a thread about a guys superb on these wheels. May be worth trecking back a few pages and trying to find out who it was. Thread was a white Superb, they guy had bought my 3 alloys and sourced a 4th.
  12. Lights issue usually seems to be corrosion in the wiring loom under the front and rear passenger side, however the CCM (convenience contol module?) could be knackered which is also under the passenger side carpet. There is a sticky thread on here detailing how to fix the issue, also has been well documented in numerous threadss. My lights have just packed up for a second time, but this is because I managed to spill a botter of water in the passenger side foot well :/ 2.5 also has the bigger front brake discs, when I changed all pads and discs my self think the cost came to about £180 - £200 for the parts. Superb also likes to chew through tyres pretty quickly, I got 10K out of a really nast cheap set of tyres, had better results with better brand tyres. Make sure CV joints arent clicking on full lock as well, also another common problem. I think road tax costs cut off to newer prices for march 06 onwards cars, so you will be looking at 235 ish for a year, and sligtly more than half for 6 months. Worth checking as well, only because ive had such a ballache with it, is that all the door locks function correctly. Ive got mine in the garage at the moment as a rear door seized shut, not cheap to fix :'( Other than that, its a nice car to drive, just need to keep on top of the common issues.
  13. Damn it, I hate it when I see pictures like that....... if only I had the cash to do that
  14. They aint cheap new mind, same thing happened to me last year, same rims. I ended up buying a second hand set of Audi rims, worked out cheaper. You be looking at over £300 from stealer for 1 rim. I have on occasion seen the odd "Solid" wheel listed on ebay for reasonable money, often listed as elegance wheels .
  15. Im gonnah try and run mine until it blows up tbh. Had belt changed at 56k, now on 85k it shoukd in theory last until 140k. I suspect the rest of the car will fail before I hit that mileage though
