  1. All sorted now, locksmith sorted the lock by swapping the pins. When I removed the lock I wasn't aware there is a clip inside too, the clip gets disconnected if you loosen the side screw too much! Took to the local mechanic who took 30min to fix it. Hope whoever done the damage in the first place doesn't have another go.
  2. I've taken the barrel out and then removed the long flat part. Put the barrel back in. Now it will turn around however the door lock won't open as intended. Went to nirro vw spare parts and bought a passat lock barrel for £25. Called a locksmith who will match the barrel to my key for £30. Called skoda earlier, they needed a code from the key blade that my keys didn't have. There was also a 4 week lead time as they get cut in Germany. What a nightmare. Unnecessary expense when my wife is due any day now!
  3. Hi Folks Today to my shock my car was broken into. Seems like someone got a flat screwdriver and forced it into the barel. Likely enough they didnt steal the car however i now have another problem, the car can now opened with virtually anything as long as its narrow like a flat screwdriver. The barrel turns and opens the car with very little effort. Not too sure what to do for over night as its on the street and secondly how do i repair it as the barrel defo needs replacement. As the barrel is soo damaged i assume the repair kits will be useless as i can turn and open the car door and deactivate the alarm without the original key. I assume therefore the cylinder is damaged (or am i wrong?) Regards
  4. Hi all Oh man is it a mission or what to change these especially if you don't have skinny hands (need to go on a hand diet). Whist changing the bulbs I got a little clumsy and the housing clips fell in to the under tray. That's not as bad as what happened next. I put a little to much pressure on to the driver side dip light and round dome has gone loose! If I push it in it doesn't clip in. The bulb is housed okay however the whole unit within the headlight now moves around. Have I broken it?
  5. As my bracket is snaped off, i started removing the wing mirror and and have come across an issue: So far i have removed the black bottom cover (the led one) Then i removed the Top plastic cover and removed the glass and glass moving meganism I am now left with the metal bracket thats broken and the wiring with the plugs How do i total detach the the bracket as the hole is is too small for the plugs to fit through Do i have to remove the door cover and then disconnect from the switch? Its raining so i have covered it up with some plastic.
  6. its on the elegance and not the comfort :'( will be nice to rectro fit if it isnt too hard I need a defo answer on the passat as i dont want to folk out cash if its not compatable
  7. Someone broke my driver side wing mirror and snapped the braket. The housing and mirror are fine. No luck with the breakers so far as superb parts are rare. Considering the housing and mirror itself are fine, if i get a passat wing mirror and take off the housing, will the superb housing fit?
  8. Hi, no reponse yet and no luck finding anything on ebay. Anyone aware of in breakers that do skodas in london? Also how hard is it to change the wing mirrors to the ones i can close electrically (i used to a button in my seat leon cupra to do this)?
  9. Hi All Has anyone installed additional footwell lights that turn on with the front light lights?
  10. here is what i found http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-PASSAT-O-S-DOOR-MIRROR-/170691282411?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27bdfe45eb
  11. Hi Guys Been away for a while. Someone broke my driver side mirror by pushing it down and breaking the bracket. The mirror and housing are fine so i just need the bracket that seems to be the major part. Any ideas if i can get one separatly and what the part number is? Any idea on costs? Will a passat mirror bracket fit as i cant find any suberb ones on ebay?
  12. The parrot kits a God send and any novice with patience can install one in under an hour. Just make sure the mic is positioned well, i put it on the steering column and put the parrot 3100 on a brodit bracket that is money well spent (no holes, no screws etc). The wireless loom is starightforward and no need to cut any wires.
  13. managed to clear the fault logs and got an error on the mid left sensor. swapped it with the mid right and got the error on that. cleaning it made no difference. although the errors were different i will probarly need to buy a new sensor. Damn they are expensive.
  14. That doesnt work as there is no static from any of the sensors.
