  1. Some great lists with a few of us really showing our age! Mine is as follows: Ford fiesta 950 popular - my first and still favourite. Pug 1.6 205 GTI - better than the 1.9 Renault Clio RSI - still don't know why I bought this. Pug 205 GTI 1.9 - Scary Subaru impreza turbo 2000 - loved this car Subaru impreza WRX (bug eye) Subaru impreza WRX STi - great car unless you had a bad back or piles B7 Audi S4 avant - loved it and would have kept it longer than the 3 years that I had it but almost £600 a month on fuel started to wear a bit thin! 2006 Octavia vrs - great to drive but gave me nothing but bother - Friday afternoon car, I reckon 2012 B8 S4 avant black edition - the best car I have had, brilliant.
  2. Can't wait to hear what you think of it, I had 3 of these over 8 years and absolutely loved them and I still have a soft spot for them. Enjoy the wait!!!
  3. This has been a hot topic on a few forums, I had lifeshine thrown in as part of the deal when I bought my car last year and I have to say that I think it's an excellent product - can't really say if if it's worth the asking price but my car, inside and out, still looks great after every wash.
  4. You've made my day, a guy I work with has a vxr nurburgring - he's 60!
  5. I have a hatch bag liner in the boot of my car and in my previous 2, they cover everything and seem to protect the boot from everything that my 2 choc labs throw at it. Sorry about the pup, we'd be devastated if anything happened to our 2, and enjoy your new bundle of fun (or destruction!)
  6. Out of the 3 I'd go for the Renault followed by the corsa. No particular reason, just personal choice!
  7. This man speaks sense. I had them on my Octy, steel rims with goodyears ultragrips, I paid close to £600 for them and I used them for 2 winters before selling them on for just under £300. I now have an S4 and even though the alloys (18" needed) and tyres cost me £1200 I see them as a good investment which over the ownership of my car will not cost me any more than if I had left the standard 19" alloys on.
  8. Never been in one but what an ugly car, can't comment on how it drives so it may be a good little car.
  9. I saw one of the face lifted Exeos today and I have to say that I like it, I owned a B7 S4, the interior was excellent and still looks good now, in fact one of the main grumbles of B8 A4 owners is that they prefer the B7 interior so I wouldn't let the fact that it's an old design put you off. I never had any grumbles handling wise, so if Seat have improved it then it should be a pretty good drive. Space in the back and boot won't be as good as an Octavia and they do tend to eat front tyres. In the end it'll come down to personal choice and whichever you go for I'd imagine you'll be happy.
  10. I fancied the wheel insurance but I was told that it's not available on the black edition due to the diamond cut rotors which cannot be smart repaired - bummer, as I think it's quite a good deal, I did get the dent repair thrown in though so to all bad.
  11. Don't worry about it too much, if your car is targeted (a lottery win is probably as likely) as long as no body is hurt just let the insurance deal with it. Mines garaged at night and when not in use and has no extra security fitted but if someone really wants it then they can have it as long as my 2 dogs don't mind! Enjoy your car.
  12. They have their pick in Aberdeen everyone drives a nice car - even the thieves!
  13. This may come as a bit of a shock but I'm getting better mpg out of my S4 than I was from my Octy! I'm just waiting to do a steady motorway run to see what I can get, I averaged 38mpg before Xmas on a 30 mile A19 run which I was pretty impressed with. Looking back I think there may have been something wrong with the Skoda!
  14. As has already been said the wide 18" tyres of the front wheel driven Octy (and all cars with a similar set up) don't really work during the winter, winter tyres are a must as far as I'm concerned if you rely on your car.
