  1. My MK7 Golf 2.0 TDI is leaking in the same place, found this when searching for my issue: http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/archive/index.php/t-187737.html
  2. I had this issue with a new mk1 Octy years ago, the dealer ended up replacing both the slave and master cylinders, which resolved the issue
  3. I totally agree with you, but it's got bad over the years where you can't trust a main dealer, I hear some of you say, could you ever ? But when I had my Octavia's, Sherlodge Garage, now Motorline Medway, always gave a great service in the 14 years I was with them.
  4. Yep totally agree and workmanship. I know its annoying when these type of accidents happen but at least you'll hopefully get it sorted. Trouble is I'm very picky, I always check when works been done, regardless what its for, car, home etc, my wife says its OCD and I totally agree That's why I tend to do alot of my own work on my cars, other than the cambelt !
  5. Well, got the car back yesterday afternoon from VW Beadles Maidstone, they reported that the noise I can hear is normal. I must admit it does sound a little better since they changed the cambelt etc, so it could have possibly been a tensioner. It does still sound a bit tinny at idle, I'm gonna have it up on ramps over the weekend and I'll take a look and listen with a mechanics stethoscope. As to the work carried out by Beadles, I wasn't really impressed. The plastic cover over the top of the radiator was scuffed and some deep gouges have appeared on it, which wasn't there before yesterday and also theres a small scratch on the o/s front bumper that wasn't there either :(
  6. Thanks, mine drives great it's just this tinny sound at idle once warm. It's currently in the VW garage having its cambelt/waterpump replaced, just for my peace of mind, I know its early. I've asked them to take a look at it so I might have some more info later. If so, I'll post it.
  7. Sorry, a little off topic here, with regards to covering 85k, have you found that the engine is noiser at idle compared to when it was lower mileage. I only ask as I've recently bought a mk7 golf 2.0 tdi 150 with simialr mileage and I find that, once upto temperature, the engine sounds tinny (want for a better word) at idle, but ok when revving. I don't notice it with the windows closed and it drives very smoothly and is very quiet otherwise.
  8. I had the same issue with mine 3 years ago, I bought a turbo from Turbo Technics and had a local VAG specialist fit it for me, I believe it worked out about £700 all in including a service
  9. Sorry, just one last question, I've bought new shocks, genuine springs, droplinks, top mounts, front arms and ball joints, do I need to buy new bolts at all. I only ask as I know VAG use stretch bolts in some applications
  10. Thanks Willydog, so I'm guessing because I'm going to use Bilstein B4's, there's only one type of shock (not sport). If I wanted a more sporty shock I'd have to use another set from the B range, i.e. B6 for example ?
  11. Ah right, thanks guys, I've bought new Bilstein B4 55mm fronts, my suspension code is G07/L13. I wondered about there rears being the same size or 50mm. Thanks again
  12. Sorry, silly question, would all 4 shocks have to be 55mm if the fronts are ?
