  1. Can anyone throw some light on why my engine oil light comes on and is showing a temperature of about 98 c I have a 1.4 petrol engine Kodiak this happens after about 20miles
  2. oil temperature Hi Does anyone know what temperature the oil should run at when the engine is warm I have a petrol engine 1.4
  3. Hi I have had a new estate with the towbar fitted by the dealer and would strongly recommend you take this route I had a problem with the parking sensors not isolating when connected up for towing and selecting reverse I contacted the dealer only to be asked if they supplied and fitted the towbar they were obviously looking for a way out when I said they had fitted it they were then willing to sort the problem out, I would suggest you talk to them and try to get them to include the towbar in the purchase price certainly fit it at cost depending on the electrics I would say you are looking at around £650 for the complete supply and fit
  4. The easiest way is to take it to a dealer they did mine in no time at all
  5. I have just taken delivery of a new superb elegance estate and I am finding the double klick key most annoying especially when my wife wants to open the tailgate and I have to remove the key from the ignition to unlock does anyone know how to allow the key to unlock all the doors together?
  6. Always assuming you know what you are doing
  7. Latest update I contacted Skoda Ieamington again asking if they could supply a new motherboard if required only to be told that this was an internal part and as such they could not obtain it so if this was the problem it would require a new unit at £1700-00, but they could run a diagnostic check for £100 which if the motherboard was the problem it would mean a new unit not very good, or if it was a firmware problem they could run a re-fresh at £50 so all in all a poor service. I eventually contacted Hazzy Dayz of Hertfordshire (who are VW & Audi Specialist) with the problem they said it was one of two things either a refresh was required or a new motherboard they would try the re-fresh first which normally cured most problems but if not a new motherboard would be fitted (this would be a genuine Skoda part!!!!! ) took the car yesterday and it required a re-fresh at £120-00 to remove the unit and carry out the work finally refitting this included speed camera"s and the latest postcodes, they also said the refresh was guaranteed for 12 months and if it failed in this time they would fit a new motherboard and reduce the price of the motherboard by £120 which they quoted at £300, I would highly recommend this company as the service and help was first class
  8. My Columbus unit has gone dead all I get up is the Skoda navigation logo, it switches itself on brings up the welcome on board sign then after a short while it switches itself off repeating this process continually, ive tried re-booting, switching the power off for 24 hours inserting the disc all to no avail, contacted the dealer who I got the car from only to be told I need a new unit !! at £1750:00 Does anyone have any more options or can tell me of a good repair company by the way the car is a 2009 model
  9. Ive just had mt 2009 superb serviced and asked about updating the columbus sat nav to take the full post codes i was told i needed the V7 updated DVD Pt No 3T0051859 at a cost of £145:00 + vat this seems expensive to me as its only a disc, has anybody else been told this and is there an alternative way of obtaining this part at a sensible price,(not a generic one though), i would prefer the correct disc
  10. i took it to the main agent, they took it for a test drive and experienced the problem then linked it up to the diagnostics and the readout showed no problems, they have said they will inform Skoda of the problem and notify me if there have been any modifacations implemented
  11. Ok thanks its really what i felt a trip back to the dealer will post results when sorted
