  1. Just had a message from Ling's to say that because of the VED changes on April 1st all the finance quotes for cars registered on or after this date will change. The finance companies won't provide quotes with the increases included at the moment. For my 150 TDI it looks like it will be an extra £80 over two years so around £3 a month more (I'm guessing). Petrol increase will be higher. Explanation document in Ling's unique style here.... Linky Hopefully no ones managed to spec up a £40k plus car !
  2. That looks like a great deal ! I'll be paying 3+23 x £323 for a TDI DSG SEL without any options. I'm going to have to stop reading this thread :peek: Which dealer is that with?
  3. Ignore this.... Double checked and now being told no date can be confirmed until January.
  4. I wondered this myself but didn't bother checking as wasn't too interested in any options... Using pmdc199's figures you get: £350 - Front and rear parking sensors £850 - Electric Folding Tow bar £125 - Folding table on back of seats £150 - Partition net screen £90 - Remote folding rear seats £100 - Aluminium pedals £125 - Mythos gloss black decorative insert Total is £1,790 Divided over 32 payments (9+23) should be £56 extra a month at full cost. Actual quote increase is £80 a month so no idea in this case?? An extra £80 a month is £2,560 extra for £1,790 worth of options! Maybe my logic is wrong :S
  5. Just placed an order through Lings for a 2.0 TDI 150 SEL DSG No options apart from the zero cost Triglav wheels. Metallic was included. 3+23 £330 a month 11k miles 3+35 was a few quid cheaper.
  6. I've been given a 'due to dealer' date of 10th April for an order placed yesterday.
  7. I originally posted my problem in the Octavia forum but as I’ve just bought a VCDS I thought I’d have a go in here! Long post but hopefully the detail will help. 2005 Octavia 2.0 PD140 Diesel with a shark map I've owned the car for 5 years and I think I’ve had this problem for at least the last 2 years. A blip in the power delivery of just half a second or so where it feels like the start of a stall. When this happens the Glow plug light comes on and usually the EML which then both clear within a second. There is also a double tick noise from the drivers dash area that sounds like a relay. This can happen at idle (Where it would stall) or when driving. Initially this would only happen in winter and just once soon after setting off in the morning. Not when driving back from work in the evening strangely. This year the frequency has started to increase so that it has happened through the summer and now at any time, maybe 4 or 5 times in a 50 minute drive. Booked it in for a diagnostic with Skoda last week but they couldn’t find anything and typically the problem didn’t occur while they had the car. Fortunately they didn’t charge me as they didn’t find anything. Apart from this the car starts and runs great VCDS I tried logging some data but as soon as the issue occurs, VCDS logging stops and reports errors on the log screen for each measurement (Attached) Error Codes Cylinders 1, 2 and 4 have the error below. Skoda and a specialist I had a scan with last year were dismissive of this. 17055 - Cylinder 1 Glow Plug Circuit (Q10) P0671 - 000 - Electrical Fault Freeze Frame: RPM: 0 /min Torque: 168.0 Nm Speed: 0.0 km/h Load: 0.0 % Voltage: 12.24 V Bin. Bits: 00101100 Temperature: 9.0°C Bin. Bits: 00110000 Also this with the same single wire error on the doors although everything seems to work OK. I've had this error since getting the car. 8. Don't think so. This is very brief blips of power loss apart from the one longer instance described above.
  9. It's continued past a fuel filter change. Not sure about the glow plugs. I had the error codes read which listed some errors for the glow plugs but the guy was dismissive of that being the problem saying it was quite common for those to pop up. Had a new one this morning. The power loss lasted for a second or so for the first time but it wasn't a complete loss of power. I was accelerating quite hard but then just maintaining speed with no acceleration.
  10. For the past 18 months I have had an intermittent problem with a brief loss of power when driving my 2005 Octavia 2.0 PD. Happens between once to a few times on a 40 minute drive every day. It only lasts for half a second and feels like a stall but then picks up straight away. It’s been slowly getting more frequent. It used to only happen in the winter and then just once in the morning and not on the drive back in the evening, but now it can be anytime. The only things I notice at the time are the glow plug light coming on for a second, sometimes/mostly accompanied by the EMS light, but also a tick, tick sound from the driver’s side dash area, around half a second apart. The tick is the same sound you get when switching on the rear window heater so maybe a relay? I don’t know whether this is causing the loss of power or is just a symptom. Does anyone have any ideas before I start giving lots of money away for fault finding
  11. I have but it didn't sound like them. Beeps stopped before I moved the car off. I've got an STS unit from shark performance for another car but not sure if I can use it for fault codes on this one. (Fired off an email to ask) Did use it but got some odd codes out of it, C07B7 and C02A2. I know I have faults relating to the central locking (single wire mode?) from past trip to the dealer and Ben.
  12. Couldn't see any icons at the time. Had the service reminder chimes for a while before the service but this was totally different. Sounded like a cheap buzzer. Maybe the speaker's on its way out. I'll give all the levels a check tonight.
  13. It wasn't the nice chime/bong sound but more ...basic... for want of a better word. Each beep was about a second long.
  14. Hi. Had a weird thing yesterday. After starting my car (05 PD140) I heard four or 5 long beeps from the dash area. Any idea what this might have been? It ran OK and hasn't done it since. Gary
