Too many people get hung up on figures etc. IMO a rolling road is good for a rough guide on power figures but are absolutely spot on for mapping. If the car runs well and feels good then brilliant!!

Engine issues after timing belt failure.

My mechanic has just sent me the following: Injector harness looks ok. The car runs ok in 1st and 2nd and u can drive thru the misfire in other gears if u keep it goin. Anyone got any ideas? -

Timing is spot on so we have ruled that out. Will get the air flow meter checked to see if that is the problem. Never thought of the wiring harness to the injectors were that fragile, next on the check list then. Silly question but do these engines have crank/cam shaft pick up sensors? -
I posted a few weeks ago saying the my timing belt had failed and we had a problem with regards to a "misfire" type of scenario whilst accelerating under load. My mechanic had a feeling that maybe the injectors could be damaged/faulty so had them tested. It came back that 2 were indeed faulty so they were disposed of and 2 new injectors fitted yesterday. Unfortunately the problem still persists and I'm really getting ****ed off waiting to get my car back. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been thinking it could well be a mapping issue but could be totally wrong. Help help help!!

A company on eBay sell them for around £70 I think. Not sure how difficult it is to fit but can't imagine it to be too hard.

Vrs rebuilt after timing belt failure

Thanks moggy, some good info there that I didn't know about but my mechanic did. The head was not skimmed so the injectors are being whipped out for a check. -

Would it misfire when revving the engine whilst sat stationary? It didn't when I did that, only under load from third gear upwards. It definitely wasn't pulling as it should either. -

Yeah valves bent!! Everything was replaced, 8 valves, hydraulic litters, pulleys, tensioner etc etc. When the head was returned from the machine shop my mechanic sent it back as he wasn't happy with one of the injectors. They sent it back saying it was fine. So if the injector is blocked I would imagine it's a head off job again then?? -
My car is back together and running, however........ an issue is causing some concern so hopefully someone can help answer my questions. The car starts, idles and drives well apart from what feels like a misfire. 1st and 2nd gear seems fine but under load in any gear there is a mis-fire that makes the car shudder. Also, it certainly doesn't feel as quick as it did prior to the engine damage which I'm putting down to the mis-fire. As the car has been remapped and now fully rebuilt due to the damage, any idea if the mis-fire could be down to the map? Would it need to be mapped again? Thanks

Nice replacement. I had the previous Mini to that, Cooper S JCW version and what a fun little car. The noise of the charger was amazing. My wife keeps dropping hints about wanting another so may have to start looking to see what the prices are like on them at the moment. Enjoy your new car buddy.

Great. Was it an easy job to complete and I'm guessing it can be done by removing the undertray?

Thanks mattie.

My car is almost back on the road after my timing belt mishap. With the extra boost with the remap, is it worth changing the clips on the IC hoses? My thinking behind this is to replace before the current clips become worn and possibly pop off under acceleration. Is it an easy job to do(I have access to a ramp etc) and how much for new clips? Is there a rubber seal between the IC and plastic pipe? Oh and if anyone has a pert number that would be most helpful. Many thanks.
