Possibly someone's had the chain tensioner replaced.

Return of the non-Scout/vRS 4x4 DSG?
Sarge replied to DavidY's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
VW recently started putting the 1.8 tsi engine in the alltrack so I wonder if they're starting to introduce it more widely now. Prior to that the alltrack, like the Scout, could only be had here with the Diesel engine. -
Mine was a 7year old 1.8 tsi with c70k on it and although no chain issues it was using too much oil. A new engine ensued.

I love my new Virtual Cockpit ..

In the golf the nav. doesn't make use of the full width of the display as rev. counter and speedo are retained, although at a reduced size. That Octy one looks superb. -
As Sasha says it's a crude system which essentially just measures the difference in rolling diameter between the wheels. If you were on rough ground it's perhaps conceivable that the deformation of the tyres caused by the terrain, particularly if loaded, was enough to alert the system. But worth asking the garage about it if the car's in anyway.

4 wheel alignment after eibach pro
Sarge replied to Gissin's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
From picking up my vRS brand new at the dealer my steering wheel was always slightly off-centre. I'd had eibach springs from new so I had a 4 wheel alignment done at a Skoda dealer and the steering wheel came straight but the rear tyre wear was rapid and the inner edges went in no time. Had the car re-done at an Audi dealer and the steering went back to slightlying off-centre but tyre wear thereafter was perfect. No saw toothing and even wear across the tread. -
Bluetooth syncing problems

IIRC the aux input is in the front centre armrest. Lift the lid and it should be on a small shelf in the storage space. -
Just being the same size isn't enough. It'll need to have the same wheel nut configuration and the off set will need to be similar. If you're able to give a bit more detail I'm sure someone will know if it'll fit.

In contrast, the alcantara on my mk2 scout to me wore well and was still in very good condition after 7 years and 70k miles.

Recently bought a seat cover from carseatcovetsuk and it's very good as it protects the whole of the back of the seat as well as the front. Not the quickest to fit as quite tight due to pronounced seat bolsters but looks as though it'll be very effective.

I suspect you'll need to spec the electric driver's seat to get that extra functionality. That certainly used to be the case. Hopefully a new owner can confirm.

VRS owner tries superb sportline
Sarge replied to JamiePvrs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
One advantage of the superb is you can couple petrol and 4x4 in the superb sportline but not on an Octavia. It was one of the main reasons my brother went for a superb when he changed his vRS. -
Change third brake light - remove spoiler?
Sarge replied to Beppe's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Yes, IIRC the spoiler is 'just' glued on. Lousy design if brake light can't be replaced with spoiler in place. -
The lack of braking performance will likely be just the brakes being wet. I've made that mistake before when setting off just after washing the car and gone to brake and initially nothing happens!
