  1. Faith restored in Skoda, thought they would dispute. New seat cover to be replaced under warranty, there has been a Skoda bulletin re this issue. Very nice dealerships to wait in now with tv,drinks papers and confy chairs.
  2. The first off the line in right hand drive were white and blue estates. Uk build alocations of these were very quick deliveries of around 7--10 weeks (not the 23 weeks like my mkll ). I knew this when i ordered, without this knwledge l think i'd not be in a Skoda again if l had to wait too long. Free colour at present, can see the day soon when any colour is a cost option
  3. Mine has the 'Tired eye' on drivers side, whatever the speed but only on full beam. Dealer says there is an update to be done to cure this, sevice time they can do it.
  4. Congrats. My first journey after 300 miles on clock was to Aberdeen from Northampton. New car, sready driving - 45mins to Brum, 3hrs to Carlisle (good stop at McDonalds/Asda). Watch out for cameras on bridges after Lancaster to just before Lesmahago. 1h45 to Glasgow (20 miles before Glasgow, Tesco at Lesmahago for a fill up). 2 to Aberdeen - Perth to Aberdeen camera alley, take it easy. lt can be done quicker, (6h 20mins my record)but new motor and if you ain't sure of where the camera vans are, 8 hours from London l'd say, M1, M6. Glasgow,Perth,Dundee up. Do this once a month, great drive, enjoy. lf you have time then Perth, Aviemore, Grantown on spey to Elgin.
  5. Well, glad to hear you guys are ok. l know 3 of us with problems. lt is known to two dealers who say they issued this problem to Skoda UK. Front cloth seat base cusion edge is fraying. They will do nothing 'classed as abnormal wear'. Bloody right it is. Must admit the mkll seamed not to cut as many corners on quality in these areas. So after 6 months a quality issue, mkll lasted 120000miles and no interior weae issues.
  6. perfect, this is what l'll have next time. I needed quick delivery last year so got in 9 weeks-but white. l'll look outfor ya.
  7. Front edge of my passenger seat is beginning to get worn. So much so that l can see the 'frayed' material sticking out from the edge where the join is. Looks worse from the drivers seat looking over. Funny thing is the drivers seat is not as bad. Car done 12k in 4 months-mostly up the motorway on my own! Dealer has to book it in and take pictures and send to SUK. Another car at dealership has same problem with these cloth seats.... 2 per dealership? anyone else? Was given the abnormal wear excuse - damn right it is. mkll vrs with 110k not had this, 60k polo not had this, 200k bmw not had this. Watch this space for how they don't replace the cover.
  8. Yep same thing with mine, offside beam 'sometimes' goes off to right and high, well away from where it should be.Back to dipped and do a few corners and it rights itself, next time on it's ok. Looks like a small issue 'sometimes' with its position and movement -l think software related when lens mirror moved, the cornering function does not reset to straight ahead after first right turn on beam. Gonna live with it for a while as usual a dealer will say "we can't replicate fault" Lights are way better than mkll zenons, especially the zenon beam even if only half sometimes!
  9. N/S front door don't look the szme shade, not so obvious in next pic but what you recon.....
  10. Might help, my profile picture shows std polished rim ones. The colour behind is more light grey/blue than a dark grey/black.Bit dissapointed, just a bit as look great but would have prefered a metallic black finish.
  11. l agree with your point having had both.. New it has to be Skoda. 3 to 4 years old (Used) then BMW, especially if it wasa private purchase and you are keeping forever.
  12. my mklll vrs has that also, sounds like an electric fuel pump buzz just near the back wheel. Did'nt think diesels had pump back there. Two things on list for dealer visit so far, other is the sticky headlight washer jets. Not worried bout either as runs great, excellent motor compared with my old mkll especially the new zenons on full beam.
  13. Also forgot to add to all other points made above which should be considered. BMW's do not often get let out of roads by other traffic or get 'allowed' to merge into single lanes. With the Skoda you do! (those of you who have driven both badges will have experienced this).
  14. Been running a 140BHP 3 series M Sport Diesel (11 plate) for about 2 months while waiting for my MKIII. Averaged 46--48 mpg from the BMW. MKII Vrs Diesel had been regularly doing 45mpg. Now have had new MKIII 184bhp (1000 miles) so far at 48mpg. Now go over to the BMW forum and ask them, then you will have an unbiased decision based on peoples experiences.
