  1. No, it is well known that tires on rear axle are worn in a saw pattern which causes quite a noise. This does not happen on front axle or only very limited. I think ADAC had an article about it and it is also my own observation. Another parameter affecting creation of the saw pattern on rear tires is width of the tires. The more wide tires on rear the more saw pattern and the more noise. However I am not sure about this problem and its relation to VAG group.
  2. When my S2 1.8TSI DSG was new I also could not get above 38. Now with 40.000 miles it is possible in extreme to go to 48 and with normal drive to about 43mpg. I never had so high fuel consumption like 32, only in city on short distance.
  3. I have a S2 1.8TSI DSG from Denmark. It does not have hill hold but hill assistant which means that if you stopped in a little steeper hill it will brake for a few seconds after you release break. Quite usable, no issue with it and no need for real hill hold.
  4. The white color when clean looks best on Superb (also compared to the metalic ones) on the other hand the normal blue looks ugly on Superb clean or dirty does not matter. In the non-metallic blue Superb looks very small and cheap.
  5. Sw1 you live in south England. 4x4 is a waste of money for you because you will never use it go for DSG - you will enjoy it every ride!
  6. Brake dust is normal. It can be many reasons why the brakes (or something else) is noisy when braking. If you don't understand it you should have it checked. Is the noise continuous or does it depend on the speed of the car? Also you should check the screws on the wheels if they are tight.
  7. I bought my Superb 2 1.8 TSI DSG elegance for 24.000 Euro. I am sure for 30.000 GBP you can have Superb 2 with engine of your choice and all the extras.
  8. You should have the wheel alignment checked (quite easy procedure that can be done at any service). I have the same tires (Dunlop SP Sport Maxx) but they are evenly worn (except for the stepping, which is I think normal). http://www.familycar.com/alignment.htm
  9. In Czech you can order these special colors for 100Euro more than the regular metallic colors.
  10. On my rear summer tires 225/45/17 (I did 30.000 km on them) I can also feel a very big "stepping" on the tire especially at the edges. Front summer tires do not have the stepping so significant. The winter tires 205/55/16 (15.000km) do not have this problem at all. Besides that the tire wear is ok.
  11. Yes, there are some special colors for the Superb and some of these look great. See the galery on Czech skoda pages: http://www.skoda-auto.cz/cze/model/newsuperb/gallery/colours_fleet/Pages/colours_fleet.aspx
  12. The white color has two major bonuses: It is free and suits Superb2 best.
  13. What's your problem? 44MPG is good for 170TDI as well as 40MPG is extremely good for 1.4TSI.
  14. My average with my 1.8TSI DSG during 40.000km is 31mpg -mostly long distances on highway and country roads. Once I also managed to get 38mpg on 400km trip.
