  1. Did I read somewhere that the glass in the Superb , although not double glazed is slightly thicker than normal to aid soundproofing.
  2. Hi, My superb Elegance hatch 170cr 4x4 says 163g on the V5
  3. A strange feature which i only noticed the first time it got dark in my new Superb. You can dim the lights (preferribly totally) via the mfd settings.
  4. Mine took two days from the boat docking at Newcastle to the car arriving at Dealers in Dundee. Just depends after that how long it takes dealer to peel all the white plastic off!!
  5. My last two Skoda's went through 3 units. The first failure was 3 years ago in what is now my wif'e's Octavia and the first replacement unit took weeks to arrive, when it proved to be faulty out of the box the second one arrived in a week. the unit in my last Superb failed last year and the dealer got a unit for the next day!! they now know it is a common fault and seem to stock spare units in the UK.
  6. Got a disc with previous Superb but not with my new one. not particularly fussed since dealer is very helpful and if I need any extra data I am sure that they will "keep me up to date"
  7. I think in the trade this is known as "bonded leather" which does not have the strength of a natural hide, although there are many differing qualities of bonded leather.
  8. There has been many a latter day Columbus has failed since then, especially in the Skoda department. When my First Columbus gave trouble over 3 years ago there was a big fuss by the dealer and it took weeks to arrive, the replacement did not work out of the box and Mk3 is still functioning perfectly. that was in my Octy L&K which now belongs to my wife. My last superb's unit failed after about a year and another dealer replaced it the next day, so there must now be back -up stock of units awaiting warranty claims. I am the first to sing the units praises in the design and usability area since I do not need a lot of the more complex functions that some units offer, but I am still concerned at the general reliablity. I am now on my third Skoda with this unit fitted and I am satisfied with its reliability so far..........The car is only 2 weeks old mind you!!
  9. Plus you have not got to put up with dreadful run-flat tyres
  10. pretty expensive badge when compared to the Superb. Price up the extras to draw a direct comparison and then see that the cost will hurt!!
  11. If you got an official order copy them it should be in the system. Is the order number the Skoda SLI number or the garages own order number.? I am just confused that your car is taking so long compared with my order for no apparent reason.
  12. Ask your dealer for proof of the date he placed the order. It seems that he may have put it off for a spell, perhaps to let it fall into a different calendar month or something like that which the dealers use to juggle bonuses etc.
  13. Been there, had the problem. Both cars which i have bought with Columbus have both had to be replaced under warranty. A quality issue must obvious by now. Get your dealer to replace it asap.
  14. I just took delivery of a Superb 170cr 4x4 diesel hatch on the vat free deal. The only snag I had was that I could not get the estate version (which was not that big an issue) but I specified loads of extras which were also priced at the nett price. initial delivery was quoted on the order form as June 2012 (ordered end of January) which was not a problem and surprisingly enough It got allocated build week 12 and i took delivery a week ago. I also took up the 2years interest free finance which was no problem. Dealer sorted it all out and it was a breeze. Best sit down with the dealer rather than a computer screen and get him to try and sell you a car.. It is amazing how they can sort it out if there is a sale in the offing,. Good luck!!
  15. Don't think so,I wish I had made a note of the engine code on my previous Superb. That would enlighten me.
