  1. I drove it and everything cleared. Sorry for any wasted time.
  2. Hi all, ive changed my battery as it was getting past its best. Now appearing on the dash are; loss of tyre pressure monitor loss of stability (ESC) does this need driving now? Are these codes that can be cleared by a OBD and mobile app? Or something more involved? thanks
  3. Ladies/Gents how does the engine measure the temp within the cylinders? i have 4 cylinders; 175c 150c 150c no reading does the engine use glow plug resistance to measure the temp? my car came up in limp mode, flashing the preheat lamp. no faults registered. got the car up to temp, turned off for 20/30mins, turned back on, faults gone and all ok. problem is this has happened 3 times now, i'll change glow plugs, just wandering if this sounds right? thanks Steve
  4. Sorry for the late reply's. Car is fine with normal speed bumps, I never drive it over the smaller square ones though.
  5. Thanks all. Hopefully it's new owner will look after her just as well
  6. This is my little pride and joy. fantastic car and only for sale as I needed a bigger car. the Fabia has been such a great car that I've bought it's bigger brother. This car has never wanted for anything. I have owned the car from doing 23,000 miles. the car now has 58,500 on the clock. it has only been used at weekends, so hasn't lived a life of short journeys. It is a limited edition with all the associated extras….. number 988 of 1000 so one of the last few. it has been religously serviced. at 52,000 (Jan 2013) it had oil air, fuel and cabin filters cambelt and tensioner kit water pump de-ionised coolant at 58,500 (Dec 2013) it had oil oil filter drop links (just because I had new ones lying around) Lower wishbone bushes. they are a weak point. Seat leon cupra bushes fitted (suggested upgrade). It is fitted with AP coilovers, they give a great ride without being harsh. standard seemed very soft. rear anti roll bar. grooved brakes front seat leon cupra splitter. matching set of Avon ZZ3 tires (absolutely fantastic wet or dry) Standard extras include on the Limited edition include; privacy glass in all rear windows 6cd changer cruise control leather interior with limited number stamped in seats and the obvious colour only on the limited models. the car is never booted when cold and is always left to idle before turning off irrelevant of the journey length. as a result the car has NEVER used a drop of oil. Don't know what else to say, but this is and has been a truly fantastic little motor. in great condition. which sits and looks fantastic. in the best Skoda colour (in my opinion) it's back on its 2007 07 plate. £6,200 or nearest offer. if you have any questions just ask. email address [email protected]
  7. just a quick read to check date and doh!...........
  8. I always rev up and change down in any car. It is essentail to make the gear change quick and smooth. petrol/ diesel doesn't make a differance, its all about being smooth. but when you are wanting to break gear overlap then the next thing is start toe and healing. this is possible in the Fabia but the problem is that when you start using firmer breaking the throttle is cut. so for normal driving this is ok, but when flying it can be tempremental. wish this could be disabled.
  9. I just park at the other end of the car park to avoid this or others opening their doors on my car. I just use the cruise control to annoy tail gaters. Always wanted to fit a rear washer jet to a can and have WD40 or something in it, I know its bad but it would soon make them think again.
  10. yea it sounds like the seal on the cap has gone, one method is to remove the cap, clean it up, run a bead of silicon around the rubber seal (not too much). leave it to dry then re-fit the cap.
  11. just reading trough this thread and thought this from the start. haha. I had a car years ago and this was the problem. mine was caused by driving through water. Its just a sticky solenoid. I have never looked at the started motor on the VRS but the solenoids can be replaced independantly on some started motors.
