  1. nope...still wont let me enter the code.... thats it, ive just bought a header unit ...no more codes and fannying about... thanks guys anyway....
  2. thanks jimbof... unfortunately i live in a block of flats so i cant just leave the keys in it.... : / i was thinking it may be because when it was working i set it to stay on without the ignition key in... i wanted to reset it from scratch as it just wouldn't stay on a station...it kept changing by itself randomly... i'll have another go at it in the morning.....failing that i'll have to buy a cheapo radio as i'm fed up with this thing big time...its always been a pain.. cheers...see how i get on tomorrow.. fingers crossed.
  3. hi, rather than start a new topic... radio problem, skoda fabia 1.4. i have my 4 digit code... i turn on my radio... it says. 1 __ __ __ __ i try to enter the code on button 1.....but nothing happens....e.g i cant enter anything? is there a solution to this?....thanks in advance. its driving me mental....arghhhhhhhhh.... rob.
  4. i took my car in the end to a dealer, they ordered the lock and fitted it for £40.00 all in......very reasonable..
  5. hi tech1e: thanks, i'll find a dealer then. do you have a link to your guide?...thanks rob.
  6. hi guys: some little sh.t broke into my skoda fabia 1.4 last night, and has totally chewed out my drivers side door lock, i can use my key to get in and lock it, but the key keeps getting stuck in the lock now and then...and now the key is bending etc.....arghhhhhhh...... they didn't bust the ignition key part, (untouched) but i really need to replace my drivers door lock asap, so my question to you guys is A: where can i get a replacement door lock cheap? B: and a replacement key?....without having to change ALL my locks and ignition too!!!... on my key i have 'FAB' on one side...and the letters 'HAA' on the other side...is this relevant in some way... thanks in advance for your replies. rob.
  7. waheyyy...i fitted the new sensor. after banging my hand ,swearing a lot etc...as you do!... run the engine for a while till it warmed up..no more beeping..and panicking about ceasing up etc... and yep..the old sensor was full of oil...i had to let gravity take its course and keep wiping it off the plug till it was dry..... cheers for all your help guys. brilliant forum for us skoda dudes....thanks again. now to fix my petrol flap and rear wiper washer..oh well 1 out of 3 aint bad eh?... cheers rob.
  8. thanks for the reply.. its an 8v...i need to replace the sensor...ive just bought one rob. edit:...found it..and repaired...sorted. thanks guys..
  9. hi guys. skoda fabia 1.4. where is the oil pressure sensor located? there are a few under there.. :| is it the one next to the oil filter on the passenger side? ive been looking for pics of the sensor location but couldnt find one.. cheers guys.
  10. thanks.i was careful not to overfill as i was told it would damage it badly...its just on the top 'c' mark. (going by owners manual) and i havent been tempted to put more in...i can see how some people do get tempted though!...quick cure etc.... will put in new sensor tomorrow..i'll see if it is oily too.. is it the plug/sensor nearest the oil filter on the passenger side???...there are a couple around that area!!!.... thanks .rob.
  11. hmmm...that dont sound too good!...i can see the sense in your answer though!.. i'll try the plug anyway (as ive bought one) and post the results. thanks for the replies guys. rob.
  12. thanks. ive just bought an oil sender unit, which i presume is the same thing?... going to try and replace that and see what happens...will post the results, just in case others have a similar problem. :( i was also wondering if i need to reset the insp that flashes on my speed dial..? thanks for the advice guys. rob.
  13. thanks for the reply ken. would that be the oil level sensor?..im sorry i dont understand capilary/transducer...im not to au-fait with such terminology.. thanks rob.
  14. hi guys. i am a new member ... i have a skoda fabia 1.4 comfort. yesterday i drove from newcastle to london, when i got to london my oil light came on with 3 beeps. i turned the car off and walked to a garage and bought some oil..i topped it up , turned the engine on and it still lights up.. i took the risk and drove the further 5 miles to get home, the light was still on..i left the car overnight and got up this morning and checked the oil level, it was fine..but the light still comes on.... has anyone any idea's concerning why this could be?..thanks rob.
