  1. Hi yes it's the 110. Nothing to compare against, having just bought the car but my Father in law swears by it. Didn't think it could hurt to clean an engine out with 103k on the clock. Cheers - Jonathan
  2. Hi guys. 3rd week - 2nd fill up and the results are looking good on the diesel mpg front. I'm keeping a short term record just to see if the Millers fuel additive is doing the business or not. monday (am) 14th feb - 47ltr > 10.3 gal = 50.48 mpg - 520miles - £129.9 per ltr tuesday (am) 22nd feb - 43.66ltr > 9.61 gal = 51.71 mpg - 497 miles - £129.9 per ltr So I'd say yes - so far.
  3. so that's what its for...... All I know is it was really in the way when trying to site my plunger mount phone holder..... (kensington one). Cheers - Jonathan
  4. Thanks guys for your quick responses - I'll monitor it over the next few days. It's still within its 30 day warranty period - do you think the garage would / should change it under the warranty? Cheers Jonathan
  5. Hi One week into my Octavia experience and driving home. I'd been queueing in the usual evening snarl and just got on the open road when I noticed the temp gauge (which usually sits at 12 oclock - midway) swing back towards cold then swing back to the half way mark (normal running). It did this a couple of times and then settled at normal running position temp. Has'nt done it since - the only abnomally was a gurgling sound (sounded like it was coming from behind dash) the other day. Water levels ok and no damp footwells. Any ideas? Jonathan
  6. Hi - Garage said NO to steam clean / hosing engine bay due to all cpu's etc. How careful do you have to be? Was resigned to wiping it down by hand..... yukky long job but has to be done. Jonathan
  7. Hi There - I've never had any trouble with AutoGlym products - a bit pricey but what a shine on previous cars. I just got a new (well new for me) 53 plate octavia elegance tdi and due to the weather and having no drive, have spent the last weeks lunchtimes systematically polishing the dash and plastic, shampooing the door cloth inserts and today hoovering the interior. Now it's almost fit to drive. It'll have to wait till some better weather before I take it to a power wash (gets rid of all the bugs) and will ask them if I can borrow a corner of their plot to polish it myself. Engine bay needs some cleaning too but they don't steam clean them anymore due to the fuel management computers getting damp etc. Good luck with the polish hunt. http://purple13.blogspot.com
  8. Hi peep's. Well picked up my 'new' skoda on Saturday - a bit of a baptism of fire for the poor thing - high winds and very wet / flooding but took it all in its stride - a lot better in the wind than my old Mazda 626 (51 plate). Too wet to clean saturday but sunday afforded the chance to sit in the car and polish all those little switch crevices etc. Oh and the road tax was only £110 for the year - not £125 like dealer said. It just gets better.... JOnathan
  9. Thanks for the warm welcome guys - only one day to go...... Jonathan.
  10. Hi everyone Getting my first Skoda (octavia td elegance on a 53 plate) this Saturday - very excited - and was hunting the forums for any advice on fixing the catch on the centre arm console, which appeared to be broken when I test drove last weekend. If that's all I've got to complain about eh? Cheers for the imput. Jonathan. p.s I hope to blog about my Skoda experience on a regular basis (doing a round trip of 90 miles a day) at my usual blog - http://purple13.blogspot.com
