  1. Sounds sensible perhaps but I wouldn't have a clue or any kit
  2. Wow. I'm now completely confused as to what to do. It is my car and I do intend keeping it at least 5 -6 years. I think for now I'll just keep an eye on the status messages re: the oil service.
  3. Thanks - It seemed a long time to the first oil change - but if its all computer controlled these days I guess that explains it.
  4. Hi Can anyone more technically minded (probably everyone on here) help me with a query? I have had my new Superb estate (L&K 4WD DSG) since the end of July and love it. One thing slightly concerns me though - the computer tells me (and via the app) that it is due an oil service in 10960 miles/475 days and an inspection in 15800 miles/613 days. Does this sound about right? It'll probably take me another year or so to get another 11000 miles on the clock (4000 done so far). Thanks
  5. Mine (DSG box) will happily chug slowly along in a jam. No special settings - just ACC and lane assist activated. If you stop for too long and the engine stops you do have to tap the accelerator to move again - not a great hardship and so much better than sitting on the clutch and/or going in and out of first gear. Only had the DSG for 3 weeks but I'm a convert - not missing manual!
  6. Pleased to say as of yesterday I am the proud owner of a Petrol Blue L&K estate - 4x4 280PS. Most seems highly satisfactory with the car, apart from the fact its now wet and slightly muddy! The driver is still getting used to an automatic - there have been a few sudden decelerations when going for the non-existant clutch and catching the brake. One odd thing is occurring with the Connect app, which tells me I need an oil service and did even before I'd driven anywhere. No warnings/messages from the car though!
  7. Thanks re: the "thing"! At the thickest point the thing I now know to be a footrest only an inch or so deep. Can't see the point myself ... but whatever!
  8. 1. Very happy with my new L&K estate but there's a strange wedge shaped thing in the boot. It came stuck to the side - sort of "velcroed" on to the side. Despite looking through the manual I've no idea what it is supposed to be used for. Can anyone out there help? 2. The Skoda connect app seems really good but under the vehicle status section it tells me i need an oil change - after 47 miles! Everything else with the app seems completely correct. There are no warnings etc in the car. Any ideas?? Cheers
  9. Thanks for the replies. I've never bothered with this before, but have never bought such an expensive vehicle before either. I'll have a look in the other section too - which I had no idea existed!
  10. How many of you Superb drivers out there got some additional paintwork protection (detailing?) applied to your cars if purchased new? I had never really thought about it until the other day - didn't get anything done to my current Superb estate. I am surprised how the paint has marked over the 6 years, even round the doorhandles just from my short fingernails. Is the ceramic stuff I've seen advertised worth the money? I got a couple of quotes, one was eye-wateringly expensive. I'm not one to wash and polish a car every week. I'm interested to hear what people have done/think about this
  11. Hope they aren't too intrusive as I get my new L&K in a weeks time. I removed the Greenline stickers from my current model as i thought they were a bit "naff"
  12. Keep the faith I was quoted September and it's in the UK awaiting delivery on 27th. The factory holidays will obviously slow things up - 8 weeks was probably about right unless you had loads of extras - so maybe 10 weeks from order - if it went in straight away. I suppose it also depend how many ships go to Ireland from Emden - there seems to be a constant flow to the UK mainland but maybe fewer to Ireland. What did you order?
  13. i think things are generally better than back in 2011/2012. Mine took 7 months and 3 weeks then!
  14. Used the umbrella in my current Mk estate 2 loads - but always dry it off indoors or in the boot etc. Mk 3 umbrellas arriving on 27th!!!
  15. It's nearly here! Message received today that the vehicle has arrived and delivery now scheduled for 2 weeks today as I have a day off then. Its going to be a long 2 weeks!
